Took a 5 days trip to France
--Firstly about casino RUHL in Nice, largest and most popular.
--Very disapointed.Very old with old fashioned wheels on the
6 tables where you get the half back on zero.
---On the prison table where there are 2 dealers spinning, alternate,
there is a lots of people involved, and you can hardly put your bet
in time,as simply it's more or less a rugby match.
--There is not free drinks,no free food like in other modern Europian
  casinos.There is lot of local LOSTplayers.mostly drunk,and
lots of countesses looking for a pesche.
--The slot machines are all French manufactured, very old,and decoration
of the casino it self is just one large zero.
Wouldn't rec. to anybody.

---Monte Carlo.....different story....everything opposite.
---All elegant,in suits,no street guys and girls, very rich.
---10 STARS.

Thanks .

I thought  that those  cats were of the " working girl" variety. This morning I did check the Ruhl casino website  and they are still quoting their table minimums in FF . :diablo: I wonder when they catch up.

What were the mins at the  Monte Carlo casino.? How much is  the admission to the casino? I know of one casino in Germany ,  Bad Homburg ,  the   admission to the table games was  EU 6.00 ( March 2007 ).

Are drinks being served at the tables ? They do here in the US casinos. The drinks  are  courtesy  of the casinos. Tipping the  c**ktail waitress is common sense.

My friendly neighborhood casino , the Oneida Indian Nation does not serve  alcoholic beverages  anywhere in the casino  but soft drinks  and coffee  are offered at tables  and machines.

Usually 5 euros,but there are 2 tables with 2 euros,and some 10 euros.
In France nothing free.Fee in MC 10 euros, must have a suitable close.
There are saloons for members guests only. The slot machines free entrance.
While in hotel de Paris, few meters from the MC casino,no fee entrance, casual wear
and much more casual..................Iboba 8) 8)

If the saloon is for member guests only then how can a   " common white collar proletarian" get a drink any where inside the MC casino if he/her is not a member?  :o

I think you were maybe expecting too much, in europe free drinks are not that common although it does happen. Ruhl has some wheels with very large diamonds which makes it allright for VB play, the downside is the waiting between spins. There are 2 dealers at the wheel and a dealer at the end of the table, one would expect a fast play, but quite contrary.

Monte Carlo has some nice wheels in the traditional casino, unfortunately they produce "hangers" where the ball will hang on to the track forever and the last ball revoloution takes the better part of 3 - 4 seconds where other wheels produces ~ 2.2 secs or in that area. Hardly any bounce because the ball comes down almost at a 90 degree angle because it is almost standing still when it decide its time to drop. Originally, Huxley changed the wheel design because of this phaenomena so that the ball now hits the frets at a 33 - 45 degree angle that ensures some bounce, contrary to a almost 90 degree drop where the ball just rolls down in the pocket.  Never the less, i only got a "flat line" in my tracking because the ball came down all over the place on all wheels.

Cote dÀzur is a great area, particularly the harbour in Nice and at the Antibbes is worth a visit. You will find boats you had no ideas existed in that size. Vence is great for looking at art and sipping coffee at cafes.

In San Remo you will find a Abiati filled pretty large casino. Some 40 - 50 wheels i think.  Very nice place but also not a place for advantage players.
