Moneybooker / Skrill Payout Refusal Warnings

Steve

Players have reported a significant number of payout refusals from Moneybookers and Skrill. Usually players have no problem withdrawing smaller amounts, but many have encountered difficulties with larger amounts. Here's what is happening:

1. The player uses Moneybookers / Skrill to deposit funds into the casino account. No problem here.

2. The player transfers funds to their Moneybooker / Skrill account, then attempts to sends the funds to their bank account. This is where problems are encountered if a larger amount is requested.

3. Moneybookers / Skrill requests identification from the player. The player sends the requested documents.

4. Moneybookers / Skrill is often unresponsive for up to a month. When they finally do respond, the player is told the ID is not clear enough despite it being perfectly readable.

From here, the player is asked to jump through a set of unreasonable hoops that can take literally months to organize. For some players it is near impossible because of procedures in their country, but the additional requirements are difficult anywhere. It is normal for a payment processor to request ID, but Moneybookers / Skrill appears to be making their specific requirements unreasonably difficult for payouts of larger amounts.

This has been reported on more than enough instances for it to be a concern. Their service is ok for smaller amounts, but if you are a little too lucky and want to be paid, dont use them. They are a middleman between the casino and your bank, and you are best not to risk your winnings with them. Players have also had their accounts locked for unjustified and sometimes no reason other than there was suspicious activity in the player's account, despite there being none. Perhaps they changed their name from Moneybookers to Skrill to avoid poor feedback. These and more warnings will remain until they start paying people their own money.

A closed my Moneybookers/Skrill (MB/S) account a couple of months ago. (Skrill what a poxy name.) Not because I had an issue with them but just because I didn't need that account as I had never used it.

It is a real concern that larger win amounts are delayed for no apparent reason ? Your warning Steve is well worth any player giving MB/S a big MISS.

As an alternative & on a positive note I use my Visa Debit card for funds to & from any casino I play at (some casinos that did take Visa/Mastercard & now don't ? eg Smart Live &  I don't/can't/won't play there any more. No doubt it's all about money, fees/commissions etc.).

As an an example of a reasonable total outcome, about 4 weeks ago I played live dealer Baccarat at Party Casino.

I deposited about $77AUD (Ozz money) which became 45GBP & my bankroll. My luck was well & truely in & off the 2GBP min play I won 860 - 45 BR = 815 net. I played for about 9 hours over a 2 day time window.

I withdrew 750GBP back to my Bank A/C which is linked to my Visa card. I left 110GBP in my Party A/C to fool around some more. No luck & Party got that back but I got
the biggest "FISH" out of it so I was very happy. Also because of the exchange rate GBP to AUD I benifit by an extra 66% on every pound won.

From my $77.15AUD Party Casino deposit the 750GBP became $1,217.65 back into my A/C. Off my bet sheets the OZZ time frames for funds were; Party win transfer made 1:10pm Tu 16 July 2013 & funds in my A/C 3am Sat. 20 July 2013. So near enough 3 1/2 days. I suppose they achieve the 3 business days & my bank adds the extra 1/2 day. I notice a lot of funds (local incl.) go in to my A/C at around 3am ? The main thing is that they do pay up. Smart live 3 - 4 bus. days too, when I used them.

It's still a little laughable that the casinos holds back your win money withdrawal for 3 or 4 days while they (Party) " for fairness we will conduct an internal review. Please allow 3 business days for APPROVED funds to process." ?  My view is that if they have a process that allows a deposit in less than 1 minute then a withdraw should be made within 1 hour, not 3 - 4 days ? After all imagine a B & M casino saying to every punter lined up at the cages, "come back in 3 - 4 days after we check your fairness of play, if approved we May pay you then"   Surely riots & blood in the streets ?

Party did  inform me by email of their actions. I also received an email from Pay-Pro (Party must use them as their funds processor ?) advising of the transfer amount, so 100% on that aspect. The 3 - 4 day wait for the transfer always leaves me a bit anxious until my bank "Shows Me The Money ? I think it's because of the already mentioned negative aspects of MB/S MO (method of op.) that creates the general distrust ?

I hope this information is useful for some on line players ?

It took me 3 weeks to get Uk ID confirmed with Moneybookers (as they were then),
and that was 2 and half years ago.

Its all about UK Passport.

Steve

Well, they have gotten worse it seems. I had earlier reports but didnt think much of them, but it has happened too many times now. They remind me of William Hill.. a large supposedly reputable company, with shady practices and hiding behind legal nonsense. They know usually it is not viable for people to take them to court over it. But with enough reports, they could lose their license.

Re : Moneybookers - When Smart Live stopped accepting Visa & Mastercard deposits, the main channel they (SL) were pushing for their deposits was with MB/S.

I remember I emailed them as to why they stopped accepting Visa (this might be 18 months ago ?) & they gave some lame excuse that it wasn't from their end (UK) but

an issue with Visa at my end (Australia) ? I tried to contact Visa OZ but they said I had to do it via my bank.

So I emailed my bank & they came back to me & said that they (my bank & Visa) had no known issues with the transfer of funds to or from Smart Live in the UK ?

This was laughable, going full circle & got all too hard so I ( as said in my other post) just canned Moneybookers & so I'm 1 less customer SL doesn't have.

Fortunately their are plenty of other options for funds transfers & other Casinos to play at, especially for me with Visa.

What other payment processors do you suggest then? Moneybookers and neteller are the 2 biggest of all.

ausguy

There's no simple answer - you just need to visit a few casinos you might be interested in & see what payment choices they have. Maybe Pay Pal is available at some ?

There's quite a few casinos mentioned on this forum & CC but not sure where at the moment ? Other posters might know more ?

Party casino has been ok for me. Somewhere else someone mentioned Dublin Bet. Smart Live was ok & maybe they've changed back & now accept Visa/ Mastercard ?

I find my Visa debit card linked to my bank A/C works well for me. Fast deposits, lowish fees, no dramas apart from the 4 bus. days payout delays (Party is current)

Smart Live was/has the same time frame. I also remember with them a lot of money transfer choices apart from the 2 biggies you've already mentioned.

I suggest you "test the water" of your choice by making a minimum or near to it deposit & that way you don't risk much at all. Visa to party min. is 15GBP = about $25.

You could even play a little bit & withdraw what's left keeping in mind any minimum amount conditions. What ever fees apply you just wear them. Once your money has done the full circle you then have a pathway & know what to expect in the future. Also it's best to do the casino A/C ID requirements as soon as possible after joining up.

If your luck is in & you then want to withdraw any winnings then it SHOULD happen without drama.

Steve

Moneybookers know they are so widely used in gambling, so it seems they've gotten too big for their boots (ie arrogant). There are other methods such as wire transfer, some casinos offer credit card direct. Moneybookers is just a middleman. Even bitcoin is a better option. Paypal and moneybookers are both middlemen.

Also there have been no problems with smaller amounts. The problems are with larger amounts of around $1000 or more. Now many players have their funds locked in their account and need to jump through hoops to get it back. For some people it is impossible because the required facilities arent even available where they live. Does moneybookers care? Not at all it seems.

Has anyone thought to invite a representative of Skrill (Moneybookers) to the forum,
and come and answer our questions?

Sounds like a simple task, and I don't mind being the one to do the deed!

We need to get their side of the story, without compromising data protection, or customer privacy.

weddings

I agree. I have been a customer there for 2 years so far no issues for me. Hope it stays that way.  Seeings comments like this has affect me a little a representative from mb would clear things out.

Steve

Sure Id love them to come and answer provided privacy is kept.

Can we have an update about this issue with Skrill?

Steve

They are not doing anything. No payout still. Just refusal until unreasonable demands met.

Hello I am a professional rouletteplayer  from Sweden. I have accounts on several Casinos online (like Celtic Casino, Lucky Live etc). As I have spent years in developing highly advanced roulette systems which I apply on my daily bets on these casinos I also need a secure source of "gambling" bank. Skrill is and has served me as a trusted source for any amounts over the years I ve held an account there. No complaints whatsoever.

There are always hick ups with any online bank, even ordinary commercial banks, and you will always find ppl complaining on any financial institution.

In my book Skrill is a life saver. I have found I can entrust them with any amount of money and always transfer the sum I wish anywhere in the world I so desire. I have recommended them to friends whom also are very happy with them.

The so called fraudulent behaviour discussed here,  is almost amusing considering what I know  from years of good experiences with them.

Steve

Ok thats one good review, from a brand new member with one post. I have dozens of negative ones from long-term and known members from multiple forums.
