Hey VegasMnet,

don't worry, not too much 'flamage' going on around here.

I somehow doubt your buddy can predict where the ball will land/end up (but I guess anything is possible).  If he is cheating, with the help of a dealer, then that's a whole other story... personally I'd stay away (atleast I'd tell myself I would)

Welcome to the forum!
Matt

the spinner has no control over the ball after it leaves his hand.  the ball can land anywhere. if you are having a losing run. it is easy to start to believe the spinner is spinning against you. the wheel is going one way the ball is going another, i believe you can predict where the ball will land, but this has nothing to do with the spinner.  good luck

Yes, it's very real, however, it can only be done on certain wheels. The dealers can cause numbers or sectors of the wheel to hit more frequently than probability would dictate.

For it to work effectively, the wheel must possess a dominant ball drop, where the ball smacks the same deflector on the apron roughly 70% of the time.  (This is not as hard to find as you might think).  The correct wheel speed is also very important.

When both requirements are met, even novice dealers can hit sectors.  Without the required conditions, it's simply impossible to do it.

This is an area where I have a great deal of experience. I have witnessed dealer player collusion, as well as pit dealer collusion on a few occasions.  I have also worked with dealers directly.  I have tested dealer's that can do it, as well as myself on my own wheel.

This is a subject that is hotly contested by many because 99% of the people simply can't grasp the physics involved or imagine how casinos could allow this to happen on their casino floor.

"dominant ball drop"

Herb

Would you elaborate on the above?  What is it?  How does it occur?  That sort of thing.

It's where the ball strikes the same ball deflector (or canoe) approximately 70% of the time or more frequently.

How does it occur?

Dirt debris, apron wear, or an off level wheel.  Usually it's a combination of two or more things.

Hi VegasMnet,

Experience dealer can land the roulette ball to a certain zone or sector of the wheel but not all the time.
The ball landing zone on average would be around 10-22 pockets away from the last hit number.

Pinns,

I'm glad you're here.  We need people that argue the otherside to keep the game viable, alive and well.

Leaving some doubt is a good thing.

Let's pretend there is a possibility of dealers influencing sectors.

Then, you have to deal with the practical issues in casinos. (Obviously, this can't be done online)

If you stare at the wheel until dealer spins the ball, and then rushes to the layout to place bets, how long do you think they'll allow you to do that?

many people rush into placing bets after ball is spun.. And I have never seen that someone wouldnt be alowed to do that again, they can just call NMB a bit sooner

It will be very difficult to place bets only after the spin. But i do know a player who makes good profit from land base casino because he can predict the ball landing zone ( within 24 pockets ) base on past few hit numbers. Though only within 75-80% accuracy rate but using this method he can eliminate 13 numbers from the wheel and couple with other systems he plays in side bets only.
