R.W.D / J.G and the Cyclical Nature of Roulette.

I thought I would start a new thread for this subject.

I am currently reading a book called 'How to win at roulette and blackjack' by Roy Ward Dickson. It is an absolutely fascinating book. Most people tend to remember R.W.D. for his 'hot number method' but I think that kind of short changes the guy because there is so much more in his book than just one method of play.

This thread is going to be taking a look at several of his ideas mentioned in the book and then seeing if they can be improved upon.

R.W.D's philosophy is that you can win at roulette taking advantage of the cyclical behaviour of the game. My experience at playing this game suggests that R.W.D is pretty close to the mark.

The book itself is pretty hard to get hold of nowadays. A few copies appear on ebay or amazon from time to time.
I have read a lot of literature on roulette ranging from some real crap to the real high brow stuff. I would say in my own opinion that anybody who has a little experience at the game would get more out of reading this particular book than most other books out there.

One of the easiest methods from the R.W.D book is called 'strip play'.
It is more of a filler bet while you're waiting for other betting situations to materialize.

Every spin must produce one of the following nine possibilities.
1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 3C.

The 1A is represented by 1,4,7,10.
The 1B is represented by 2,5,8,11.
The 1C is represented by 3,6,9,12.
The 2A is represented by 13,16,19,22.
The 2B is represented by 14,17,20,23.
The 2C is represented by 15,18,21,24.
The 3A is represented by 25,28,31,34.
The 3B is represented by 26,29,32,35.
The 3C is represented by 27,30,33,36.

R.W.D believed that these strips would recover in batches after a period of absence.

His rule was to wait for one of these strips to go missing for 30 or more spins.
Wait until it actually reappears and then be ready for it to recover with some heat.

An example:

Let's assume the 3B strip containing numbers 26,29,32,35 has not appeared for 34 spins and now number 29 appears. You will immediately on the very next spin start playing the 3B strip.
The suggestion is to place 2 units on the actual number that qualified the bet ( the 29 in this instance) and 1 unit on the remaining three numbers. (26,32,35) I can honestly say that I have noticed this phenomenon of the 'lead' number hitting again before any of the other 3 in my own testing of various ideas.

If you win with any of the first three strip play bets, continue to play for a further three spins. But for no more than those three spins whatever happens.
If you lose all three of the first three bets – STOP DEAD as far as the current strip play situation is concerned.
The worst that can happen is the loss of three strip bets totalling 15 chips.

The opportunity for this type of bet does not arrive too often. R.W.D claimed this play gave him a healthy profit over time if played strictly to the rules.

My next post will be my own variation on this 'strip play' idea.

Here is my own modified version of R.W.D strip play.

This way will only have you risking 1 unit per bet. The bet is a parlay on either the dozens or columns and a win will see you get 9 units back.

You will need to record the results from the dozens and columns in pairs.

1-1 = 1.
1-2 = 2.
1-3 = 3.
2-1 = 4.
2-2 = 5.
2-3 = 6.
3-1 = 7.
3-2 = 8.
3-3 = 9.

A-A = 1.
A-B = 2.
A-C = 3.
B-A = 4.
B-B = 5.
B-C = 6.
C-A = 7.
C-B = 8.
C-C = 9.

What you are looking for is one of these pairs to go missing for 25 times. Now that may seem like a lot of spins but you are able to play for both the dozens and columns.

So I will download some random numbers in two rows replicating the 9 groups for both dozens and columns.

4   7
8   9
9   6
5   4
1   3

3   3
2   5
8   5
6   8
3   5
6   9
9   3
6   3
5   3
1   4
8   5
1   8
4   6
7   2
3   9
--- So here is the 25 pair mark.
7   6
7   4
4   5
1   4
3   9
3   7 The 7 appears here for the first time in 29 pairs.
3   3
5   4
4   5
4   8
2   7 It hits again 5 pairs later.
9   9
1   6
1   6
7   2
6   4
4   3
1   7 It hits again 7 pairs later.

My idea for playing the above would be much like the R.W.D strip play method.

I would be looking for one of the 9 groups to go absent for 25 pairs. I would then wait for it to wake up and then start betting for it to appear at least once more over the forthcoming spins.

In the example above, group 7 appeared for the first time in 29 spins. (group 7 would be 3-1 for the dozens and C-A for the columns)

So assuming the 7 has appeared for the first time in 29 pairs on the columns, I would be looking for a repeat of C-A. A successful 1 unit parlay bet would return 9 chips.

I will do some testing and see what parameters look likely to offer the best results.

Interestingly enough, the 1 group has still to appear in that second row. So you kind of get the idea of the cyclical nature of things.

Please feel free to contribute any 'on-topic' suggestions or testing results on this thread.

R.W.D was a very clever man and knew what he was talking about when it came to roulette. A lot of brainstorming and discussion of his ideas may help us all come up with some clever bets which can help us win more than we lose.

cheers

The numbers are random as you show them - the tabel layout is not the same as the number ring.
Not that i like sleepers or roulette systems - but sure you would be better of using the number ring or sectors.
