Hi Forum.

Well My Friends its time for Me to move on and Resign as the Administrator and also as a Global Moderator of this Forum.

This agreement with the Forum being Owned by Steve will not work for Me to remain as the Main Administrator.

And I will put some reason why.

1-There was to be no changes......
There has been and Steve makes them off His own bat without first conferring with the Administrators (well at least not with Xman and Me) and or the Mods.

2-I cannot and will not put up with Steve talking down to the Members in His reply posts.
Some have been little more then how a person would talk to a dog.
And of course there is His Favourite saying of "You Don't have to be here "
What sort of an Admin or and Mod would I be if I condoned this type of talk to the Members.

3-There was once a policy of No click-able links.
Now they are starting to spring up and I think that this is only the Tip of the Iceberg.

4-As My Friend BerlinerBruce once said to Me in a post "put Your hand over Your Heart"
Well I just can't do that and say that I think the sale of this Forum to Steve is/was in the best interest of You the Members.

I was/am personally Pissed off that Members donated to keep the Forum going and get Victor out of debt then shortly after that it was sold to Steve.
That to Me was not the right thing to do.

There was other options other then to do this.

What puzzles me the most about all this is that I notified Victor that I had a Friend that was interested in buying the Forum.
Victor informed Me that if My Friend was the highest Bidder He would get the Forum.
I never even received a reply with what the highest Bid was so that My Friend could have the chance to top that Bid.
That to Me was strange behaviour at the very least.
And I am led to believe that I was not the only one that did not get a reply either.
You could be forgiven to think that some sort of a sweetheart deal was done here with the sale of this Forum.

Having said all this I would like to Thank some people now.

To all the Mods Administrators etc past and present I thank You for what You have done for the good of the Forum.
To the Present Mods You have been great people to work with.

To sector players such as Kimo Li and Ronjo.
I thank You Both and even though I have tweaked Your methods somewhat to suit Myself I have won money with Your ways in the past Years.

To Herb and Chuck thanks for the education and the info on the VB and Bias ways of playing.

To All the System players (especially Victor & Steve Morgan)I thank You as well as there has been some very good ideas come forward.

If it Works DO it.

And in the coming months I will be meeting at least 3 more.

I have also Met many Members Via phone calls all over the world so many that I can't mention each name.....But To You people I thank You from the Bottom of My Heart........Thanks Mates.

it's a shame u can't be a moderator, Lanky. At least don't leave the forum as a member. I have not been here for long, but I still feel that u were a great moderator, and gave lots of knowledge to the people.

THANK YOU

Lanky,

I didn't get the chance to much interact with you, an administrator,  but i got the feeling (from the start) you were trying to do your best... while expecting nothing in return.  Therefore, the greatest loss by your departure from that station has to be the board's, in general.

Thanks for taking the time to repond to a couple of my posts, and for emailing me about the problem with access to the disputed-posts section.

Being relatively-new to the (commercially-competing) gambling/gaming message-boards, i am wondering, "What are the benefits of being a moderator/administrator, as opposed to being an owner?"

Proofreaders2000

Goodbye Lanky I miss you already.  Same here, as short lived as it has been, I do not want to be moderator.

ChickenDinner

Sorry to see you resign Lanky. But I can't say I blame you, under the circumtances. Thanks for all your kind help over the years. You are one of the true 'good guys' around here.

It's a shame to see the forum has come to this, but nice to see that Lanky, Lohnro, Spider's Kiss and Proofreaders 2000 have some integrity, well done for standing up for what you think is right guys.  Steve H buying this forum was only ever going to lead to this, i'm just surprised it's taken this long.

Mr J

"And of course there is His Favourite saying of "You Don't have to be here "
What sort of an Admin or and Mod would I be if I condoned this type of talk to the Members" >>> Very true sir and I also was confused with taking a good chunk of donations and then sell the site.  :spiteful: You are a good buddy Lanky, you are best of the best. Well, two mods leaving.

Let me take a WILD GUESS who will fill those spots. (It'll be a couple guys from RF, in the "crew") I said it six times and I'll say it again. Slowly, slowly is how the non-AP posters will see the changes, MORE towards the RF style. I warned you guys and it fell on deaf ears.  Ken

iggiv

well, i am a new guy here, but here is my 2 cents: we should not start "religious wars" here. Who is bad and who is good, and blame those and these. Not a good way to handle things i think. You may not agree to someone's decisions but mutual respect and being friendly and positive is important. I think.

after all we are here to defeat casinos, not each other. Past is past.

And i think this is Victor's right to decide what to do with the forum and what is the best. And he deserves respect, whatever decision he has taken. Even if some mistake was made from someone's point of view, whatever, it is not excuse to start wars here and be extremely negative.

i am not trying to be an asslicker to everybody, i just want peace, i found lots of nice people and nice stuff here, would be extremely terrible if all this  gets lost in mutual conflicts. Too much effort has been put into this forum by different people.

Ulysses

Good on you Lanky. You have a good heart and stand up for what you believe in. I don't know you but I remember you used to post Tommy Cooper jokes a while back which made me laugh. I agree about what you said about Steve, he doesn't command himself in an honourable manner when answering posts.

Lanky bless him kinda said it all........ :rtfm:

I'd like to thank god, my parents, & my agent......

Ooops wrong speech  :blush2:

Many thanks to the friends I have made & Victor, Lanky & Sam, the original VLS

& the Mod Crew for helping Lanky & I as Admins......

Well guys, ALL good things must come to a end........ :good:

Steve / Victor if one of you would kindly remove me from being an Admin & Global Mod & return me to a member that would be greatly appreciated  :good:

To one & all, take it easy..... 8)

Steve

Moderators that requested removal of moderator status - it is done. If I missed anyone, PM me. There were far too many moderators here anyway, and several members complained about this.

When you break down and analyze what each of your said, clearly there is a large over-reaction but I sincerely have no issues with it. You can either accept or reject the following. The problem is many of you are so set in what you believe, which tends to be based more on emotion rather than fact. But if you have an open mind, then carefully consider what I'm saying. It will not change anything, except perhaps enlighten you.

Lanky I'll respond to your reasons:

Quote1-There was to be no changes......
There has been and Steve makes them off His own bat without first conferring with the Administrators (well at least not with Xman and Me) and or the Mods.

What changed?

I. I ran ads, which you knew about.

ii. I shuffled boards around so it was more user-friendly and easier to follow. The same content remains. Victor without me asking created AP boards which is fine as I was going to do it anyway. No roulette board is complete without including everything, wouldn't you agree?

iii. Members like Wendell attempted to return, but were promptly banned again. Other members like Herb came back, but I had no knowledge that he was banned until later. But there was a vote in the moderator section, and he wasa voted back anyway. I had clearly said on one of the threads when it came to things like banning members and/or bringing them back, people like Lanky (you) had a better idea of what was best because you had been here longer. I think you have jumped the gun Lanky, but I'm not going to argue about it.

iv. The forum is more prone to attacks from people like competitors. Big deal. It happens to RF to and the solution is a click.

Lanky, nothing significant changed except member perception. When it came to deciding things like the pit and members, there were votes, and my actions reflected the votes unless you count board shuffling and addition which has enhanced the forum, so I dont understand your issue with it.

Quote2-I cannot and will not put up with Steve talking down to the Members in His reply posts.
Some have been little more then how a person would talk to a dog.
And of course there is His Favourite saying of "You Don't have to be here "
What sort of an Admin or and Mod would I be if I condoned this type of talk to the Members.

Lanky, when someone attacks me calling me every insulting name such as scammer etc etc, I have every right to ban that member because it is a breach of rules. But rather than ban, I respond with facts and detailed information. Do you really expect me to be nice as pie to someone who attacks me personally? Look at both sides, Lanky. Who was talking to who like a dog? Who was attacking who? Where was YOUR moderation when I was being attacked outside the rules, Lanky? Strange you cannot see this.

And sure, when people like Mr J and Garnaby who havent the vaguest idea about relevant issues and complain about me being the new owner and attack me personally, I will tell them they dont need to be here. You are all adults. And if you or anyone dont like the way things are run, you do not need to be here. Since I took control, the changes I have made have been positive. The only negative thing has been reactions from ignorant people like ganaby. I dont mind them speaking their mind provided they dont attack personally, which is what he did. Who spoke to who like a dog? Did you even read his posts, Lanky? At least I responded with facts to establish the man really had no idea what he was talking about.

Quote3-There was once a policy of No click-able links.
Now they are starting to spring up and I think that this is only the Tip of the Iceberg.

I was under the impression the links posted by members were automatically modified. Correct there should not be clickable links from standard members unless it is justified.

Lanky, you and the other moderators never informed me you were unhappy with anything I was doing. Nevertheless, you made your decision. Not a problem and your wish to be removed from being a mod is respected.

As for the rest of what you said, it has nothing to do with me.

Mr J
