Hi, I am new to this forum and have enjoyed reading about the systems, and would like to share something I have found, it isn't perfect and wouldn't recommend trying it for real until you have practised in play for fun first.

One system I particularly like is the one by Winkel about closing the gap.

I have been experimenting with this system a lot and found a different way to play that seems to be working ok for me. I have only tried it on RNG's and haven't tested it on live roulette.

Basically my variation of this system is I look at the last 10 numbers and see if there are any gaps to be filled. But I only look at the last 10 numbers, I don't concern myself with tracking the numbers before.

i.e.

25, 24, 2, 18, 23, 5, 8, 0, 7, 25

in these last 10 numbers there is a gap between 5 and 7 which is the number 6.

What I then do is bet on a square that contains the number 6. As I often find that numbers that are right next to the number in the gap can hit before the number does, if you can include repeaters in the square that is good... if after 5-8 spins the square doesn't hit I then bet on the split with the number to the left of it, so in this example I would bet on split 6/3. The reason I bet on the number to the left of it, is because statistically I have noticed the number on the left hits more often than the one on the right... if after 10-17 spins the split doesn't hit I can either continue to bet on the number 6 only for another 18 spins, or just stop. If at any point you get a hit, you stop and start again by looking at the next 10 numbers for qualifiers.

I tend to stop betting on the square after 5 spins and stop betting on the split after 10 spins and start again with the fresh set of 10 numbers, quite often the square will hit quickly, but other times the numbers sleep and you need to bail out.

But you can bet for longer than 10 spins if you want. Say 8 spins on the square and then 9 on the split and a further 17 on the number.

Sometimes the number hits in 10 - 20 spins and you wish you had continued to bet, but other times it doesn't hit at all and you feel glad you bailed out. But it depends on your style of play, you can continue to bet longer than 10 spins if you want, is just the way I play.

I only flat bet and don't use progressions, I find losing streaks happen but when you get a winning streak it makes up for your losses without having to progress. You have to be patient and look at the long term picture with this.

Another thing I have noticed in the last 10 numbers is you can play for a number to complete 2 numbers rather than closing the gap. Sometimes you will notice 10,11 in the last 10 numbers, and sometimes betting on 9 or 12 wins, rather than closing the gap you're completing a series of three numbers. But I find closing the gap works better.

You could also try betting on a double street for 5 spins, a square for another 3 spins, a split for another 9 spins and the number for another 17 spins.

The idea with this is you stop when you get a hit at any point, be it ds, square, split or number. Once you get a hit you look at the fresh set of 10 numbers for new qualifiers and start again, you don't need to chase after the actual number....

Thanks for sharing your take on the "Closing the gap" system Spondatious.

As it is layout-based, one could say it will behave similar on both a fair RNG and live.

Of course, this without getting into the RNG in real money mode cheating controversy...  ::)

About RNG's.  From my experience, the worst Microgaming RNG casinos have Live Dealer among their options.  I recommend First Web Casino (Microgaming), Golden Tiger (Microgaming), and Virtual City (Microgaming) as "Fair" Real-Money RNG's.

A great free RNG to practice systems on is Dublinbet "Auto-Roulette".

Welcome to the forum, Spondatious :)
