QuoteSomeone naively wrote, "You're not in he casino enough in your liftime for the house edge to haveany effect on you."

This simply is not true.  If you truly believe this, then try betting on all 38 numbers for one spin.

Those two chips that you lose above represent the house edge.  :)

I actually DO wish the guy the best of luck but for Gods sake, if posters are not interested, he should let it be.  Ken

Ever notice the less faith somebody has in their own system, the more anxious they are for others to play it too? If you have a good winning method of play, you don't care if anybody else plays it or not. In fact, you hope they don't.

The good news is, we can learn to control our emotions. The bad news is, most people never bother.

p.m spike this is my biggest challenge, me and roulette will be married forever BUT its just the greed part that seems to be with me all the time.

even if you gave me a sure wiining bet. Yes even i wouldnt have faith in myslef winning with it as the losing part of my brain (the emotion) aways wins, wel mostly wins.

Always? If you can't control it, you really shouldn't gamble. Somebody who's afraid of heights shouldn't be a window washer on skyscrapers. Controlling your emotions is a huge part of winning, why play if you're just going to give it all back.

MATTJONO

not always no, at times I can deposit £5 ...0.10p units and could get that too over £30 and withdraw leaving £5 to carry on playing.
other times ill lose the first £5 in around a hour of playing balance up and down. then as soon as I have lost it ill deposit another £5 and another and another doing more stupid, stupid bets the more I play. like this weekend I lost £30 out of my wages (doesn't seem much but I only get £70 a week lol)

anyway ill try putting a limit to what I can deposit see if that helps.

I AGREE  ... but will still carry on with my battle.

Practice getting up and leaving the casino or getting up from the computer and going outside. Tell yourself its stupid to chase losses. Most pro gamblers, when asked to give advice, will always say 'Don't chase your losses'.
