Some thoughts on the martingale

When I initially started playing roulette, like many others I started with the martingale strategy. I was playing several casinos trying to achieve +150 in each. I played one of my accounts up from +200 to over +3000.

You know whats coming next............. I lost it all!

I have since tried other systems but still feel that there is merit in the martingale - it wins often and wins quickly (very often in the first few spins)

So, what I feel we need is an 'exit strategy' For instance we bet 1,2,4,8,16 then if we still havent won we need to limit losses and find a way to 'get out' of the run without much being lost. I have seen systems where you just level out ie 1,2,4,8,16,16,16,16 etc so you limit the losses but feel there must be a better way.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Hi Rouletteplay.

The thing regarding Marty is that you can slow things down a littel.
You now, you dont need to win every step playing a negativ progression.

I dont know what you do exactly but I can make an educated guess.
So lets assume you have BBRBBR and you play aginst that sequense.
You could then use 113 and not 124, the differens is 5 and 7 units.

The thing is it does not matter what kind of pattern you use, you will get chops of wins and you will get chops of loses.
If you are not a victim for greed you can divide a progression into two, one that makes a slow profit and one that makes a recovery if you lose the first one.

Just take a look at how it can look like if you get a lot of loses...

If you would haved use a Marty your highest bet would been 16 units and you would been down -15 units.

If you would lose the Marty that would be 31 units, if you lose the other one it would been 8 units.

Now we can take a real one to see how it would work with a progression that does not win at every step...
Highest placed bet 4 units. Profit 17 units.

You can experiment and explore what kind of progression you would like to use, its a littel about taste and what makes you feel good and what kind of money you are prepeard to lose.

One good thing to use if you want to use a humbel hybrid of a marty is to have a very good bet selection for it.
You could play against sequenses of 27 outcomes in a row and pick them randomly.

The sequense could look like this RBBRRBRRRRBBRRBRRRRBBRRBRRR and after you find your firs pick against 27 trails the next pick becomes a new one and could look like this RRBRRRRRBRRBRRRRRB RRBRRRRRB  they come randomly so you would never play against the same sequense of 27, it will be a new one for every attempt you play.

This is based upon a reducing staking plan with a reducing road map.
You see this patterns above has the same probability to happen as 27 reds in a row or 27 black in a row, but the fun thing here is that for every attack there will be a new one.

This is a easy one. The bet selection is to catch series of 3 like RRR BBB and to catch patterns that alternate for 3 times like RBR BRB.

Itch time you get two of the same colour like RR or BB then you play it will continue to become 3 in a row.
