Big Brother has always existed. Anyone in power wants to know what ''his'' people think, what they do, what they plan to do, etc.  And they always have taken whatever measures are available.  Now the tools are a lot more sofiticated, so the intrusion is deeper. But this has always existed.

Just like corruption.  It has always existed.  Where there is human, there is the human beast.  What is so surprising that we find crooks and corruption?  It would be abnormal if there were not any.  I am not saying we should not fight it, just that it will never be there.

Besides, there is so much hypocracy with regards to corruption.  Of all the people that are tearing up their shirt over that, how many would take the $ 20  000 enveloppe if they were sure not to get caught?  An overwhelming majority, that s how many!

Everything you say is debated a lot in this part of the world, too.  A lot of people put  forward the same arguments you hold.  It is called democracy, something those sandpits thugs don t know much about.

Guantanamo?  Yes it is a huge debate in the US and Canada.  Are they war criminals or just common law criminals?  Are they criminals at all?  It is very much a debate. You say The US don t obey international law?  What if the fight isn t fair?  What do you do if you re in a boxing match and your opponent seems to think he is a mixed martial art fight?  Do you stick by the rules and get pummeled?  or do you say "wait a minute. you want to play it like that, we ll do something about it".

Bin Laden?  The US governement says that they would heve preferred to bring him back for a trial, if possible.  Do you think for a second Pakistan would have cooperated?  If you say yes to that, you are more naive than me.  All Pakistan is interested in is the billions of $ the US have given them and continue to do so.  So if the US could bring him back, then the only other solution was implemented.

Facts?  All the attacks on US personnel inland and abroad.  Oh yes, all CIA covert operations! Of course! So silly of me.  All the demonstrations of sandpit bums with signs promising death to as many Americans as possible?  All CIA too?

I think you just hate the US, period.  I am not saying the US is perfect, far from it.  It has done extremely well, though, and not because they used force to accomplish that.  The US respect the law as well as anybody.
