This may serve for your information/personal knowledge, useful if any time you play at a truly french-style table.

American and french roulette location names:

Single number (Straight) = En plein
Two numbers (Split) = À cheval
Tree numbers (Street) = Transversale pleine
Four numbers (Square or corner) = En carré
Six numbers (Line bet) = Sixaine
Dozen (1st, 2nd, 3rd) = Douzaine
Adjacent dozens = Douzaine à cheval
Column = Colonne
Adjacent columns = Colonne à cheval
Red = Rouge
Black = Noir / Noire
Odd = Impair
Even = Pair
High (19-36) = Passe
Low (1-18) = Manque

these bets are not accepted anymore

sometimes (e.g. in spain) you still can bet red/pair or black/impair en cheval but with double minimum which is the same as betting each on its own.
