Title: Live wheel capture application
Post by: kaufwerk on September 27, 2009, 04:16:35 AM
Hi,

I have started to develop software application able to capture live wheel from the screen and analyze gained results to predict at least a half of the wheel where the ball will land.

At this moment, app does following things :

- captures the wheel image from the screen
- measures the speed of wheel after one single spin (using zero number - checking green pixels block on the screen)
- after speed is measured, it counts numbers passing one fixed point (so it´s then known the wheel position at each moment)
- measures ball speed after 4 spins and calculates decceleration

Must say these parts are very, very reliable !

Now I have to write the calculation of time remaining to ball landing.
It will take some value experiments because I need to know the ball weight.
Perfect is that the release and wheel speeds may vary because are calculated realtime.

Soon I post some screenshots.

Good job Kaufwerk,

Sounds really interesting, looking forward to see your screenshots.

Good luck  ;)

Sounds good!

I'm not too sure what's the motive behind such software, is it for online (real money) play, or is it for educational/visual-prediction-learning purposes.

I'm wondering this because it is obviously impossible to use this to actually play (for real money) in any online casino, simply because NMB (no more bets) is called before the ball is spun (well, except Dublinbet, but mostly there isn't enough time. Plus, due to the quality of their feed, the numbers in the wheel are barely visible, if ever).

For obvious reasons, online casinos and online casino feed providers are smarter than to allow players to comfortably place their chips after the wheel and ball have been spun.

By using few and highly maintained wheels, they also leave no chance for bias players. Tis' why you never see any VB'ers or bias players playing online.

Still, I, among other VB'ers, would definitely like to check this software out (if ever released) and dissect the principles involved. Even if, lets say, it doesn't actually suggest any predictions but scans the video, detects the wheel and ball in the way you mentioned, and then generate real-time information such as the speeds, number of revolutions, crossovers, etc. and provide a log/summary for that particular spin. It's a nice idea and would be absolutely great for spin video analysis.

The only option that comes to mind is release and outcome = distance + dominant drop zone.
There is online casinos that will let you place bets 6 to 9 secounds after the ball has been spun.
I have track some for tilt and you can find a 2 pin game to explore.

I don't see any other option for an Live Wheel Capture Application.

Cheers LS

That's interesting Lucky. May I ask which ones exactly?

Dublinbet has an tiny image of the wheel where you can not see release or wish deflector that hit.

Indeed.

And here are all other online live feeds I know:

Playtech feed (both the Philippines and Latvia feeds)
Microgaming feed
Smart live Casino feed

That feed from casinos such as Victor Chandler (forgot what it's called)

They all don't allow late betting after the ball is spun. Am I missing something? ???

No worries Patrick, I have just figured it out! ;)

Gees! These guys call NMB after the ball has made 7-8 revolutions, so visual prediction is rather playable here.

I understand why you avoided stating the casino's name. They are fairly new in the business (hence why I didn't know em) and they obviously have no clue, so it could soon ruin the opportunity to put this in public.

Thanks for mentioning this though. I'm going to do some tracking now.
