Title: Horse Selection
Post by: Phishalot on January 13, 2009, 09:22:22 PM
Looking to start a conversation on horse selection. I live in the US.

To select a horse
1. Look for horses that have won their last race.
2. Check to see if the last race is the same distants, track and jockey.
3. Then I check the their speed # compaired to the other horses in the race.

If a horse meets the criteria I bet it if the odds are 1 to 1 or higher.

Would like to see how others select.

Hi Phishalot,

That looks as good a form selection method as any. But how are you going to find value with your selections?

Never thought about value. Have not been betting horses long. Looking for any wisdom I can get.

I am not too sure how much help I can be as I do not understand American betting markets, and you are not allowed to bet with Betfair. My thoughts are in this thread nolinks://vlsroulette.com/horse-racing/racing-system/ (nolinks://vlsroulette.com/horse-racing/racing-system/) Value is the only way you can win at this game. (Unless you know something nobody else knows, or you are a very skilled handicapper).

You need to find some type of way to see if you are betting your selection at the right price or not?
