How much is too much?

I visited the casino this morning and I saw something that I have never seen before in a casino.  I play the auto roulette machine which is all we have here in Arizona.  The Native American casinos do not have actual tables with croupiers.  Although the wheels are real, they are spun mechanically and all betting is done on a touch screen.  Each screen has its own accompanying seat and a little area on each side of it to put drinks and maybe a small pad to write on.  This guy came in and sat down next to me this morning and he had roulette books, pads, pens, hi-liters and even a stopwatch!  I do bring a piece or two of graph paper to record actuals and some small papers with Diodoro's lines or Kimo's matrix with me but they are small and I am discreet about it. This guy had his books and paperwork all over the place! The casino even allows you to write things down and even provides little cards with spaces to write numbers and a picture of the wheel.  However, I think this guy was being totally ridiculous.  Personally, I don't want the casino to see me doing anything other than writing down numbers.  Anyway, he went unnoticed for a while by the casino personnel.  He was pumping twenties into the machine and swearing left and right so whatever books he had must not have been too fruitful.  Sure enough, after about 30 minutes, a floor manager approached him and they moved off to the side and talked quietly for about 2 minutes.  He came back and began closing up the books and putting his hi-liters away.  I asked him what happened and he said that they told him that he was welcome to write down the numbers and even bring some small notes from a book to help him but that the books themselves and the stopwatch had to go.  I must say that I was a little shocked that someone would try to bring in all that reference material and think that the casino would allow it.  It begs a different and more important question, though.  Was the casino threatened by the books?  Did they feel that he might at least eliminate the house edge with his systems?  and finally,  How much is too much to bring into a casino and have at the roulette table?

The first question that comes to my mind is this:  If he was pumping in twenties, loosing and cussing--why would they invite him to leave?  Now if he was winning....

Perhaps he lied.  Maybe the cussing got him tossed and not the loosing.

To your question:  Charts and magnetic boards work for me,  Never been asked to leave although I was winning dollars by the twos and threes!

I know that I noticed when the floor boss walked over he seemed to be more concerned about the stopwatch than anything else.  He even picked it up and looked at it.  Any insight?  Maybe the bool was about timing the spins.  If he could get a time on the spins then maybe he could predict sectors if he could pinpoint where the ball was released.  I've noticed that the wheel speed varies on this particular machine, not the ball speed.  I've counted in my head many times and it seems the ball always spins for approximately 15 seconds before dropping.

Can you still bet while the ball is spinning? If so I can see a use for the stopwatch.

You can only bet for about 3-4 seconds after the ball is spun.  It is not like real roulete in that respect.
