A very nice section here, dont get me wrong!! However, why test something (anything, it does not need to be gambling related) that you will not be doing for REAL? Testing using 50K spins or 1 million spins etc. Regardless if they are actuals or RNG. When I use to test, I would do so under playing conditions. Lets say 40 spins per hour and a 7 hour visit, 280 TOTAL spins. I would test using 280 spins, STOP and start over fresh again with another 280. I see *NO* advantage/point testing using thousands of spins. Only my two cents.  Ken

Ken, I know what you're saying, but I think the idea is that even though you're not likely to play a millions spins in a lifetime, testing over that many spins will show up the weaknesses in a system. The sequence from hell is more likely to show up over a millions spins than over 1000. Having said that, if you're waiting for a system to pass the million spin test it's likely you'll never get to a casino.  ::)

Mr J

"you're not likely to play a millions spins in a lifetime" --- I concentrate on PER VISIT, not a lifetime.  "The sequence from hell is more likely to show up over a millions spins than over 1000" --- So then let it, who cares. The sequence from hell during 250-280 spins is my only concern. Why would someone care that a method would fail over 1 million spins?? Ken

I'm with Ken on this one, I take 10,000 spins from Spielbank and break them down to 100 spins or so. Surely every mechanical system will lose over 1 Million spins  :'(

Keep it up Tangram.
Here I just going to add my humble opinion to this.. I do tests because its fun and i like to experiment with different issues.
Now here is a statement, i would never play anything for reel if i haven't run it  and that takes time.
Tangram. This is a suggestion. When you run a test and its something you maybe would consider to use for reel. Then it can take weeks or months to complete it. With this tests you should apply a good capitalization strategy, a good fund and money management plan with a lot of rules. If you succeed to triple your fund you might consider to try it for reel.
But this is just my opinions, Tangram.
You have to be a mouse of iron steel with a lot of rules to follow.
Tangram there is very many different players on this forum. Some would say that you should play random against random or use LW registry to grinding out a profit. Some would say that you should use a good mechanical system.
Tangram you have to personalize the game when you decide how to play it and the same things goes for testing. Test your ideas as you was playing for reel. But you cant just run RX for non stop and look at a graph.

Keep winning and have fun. Personalize the game and find your road map to follow.

QuoteThe sequence from hell during 250-280 spins is my only concern.

That's ok, as long as you know how to deal with it if and when it arrives. Suppose you're a newbie and you hear about this great system called the "Martingale". Just double up after every loss and you get back all your losses plus one unit profit! fantastic!
You give it a try at home and after a couple of hundred spins you've made quite a bit using a 1,2,4,8,16,32 64 progression, so off you go to the casino, all excited. After a 100 spins or so you're well up, but then, disaster! you're betting black but so far 8 reds in a row have come up -  you continue to double up but find you've hit the house limit - aargh!!  you carry on betting at the house limit but very quickly your bankroll has disappeared.

How could this have happened? you got 12 reds in a row, that's impossible!!  isn't it?

If only you'd done more testing...

"Suppose you're a newbie and you hear about this great system called the "Martingale"." ---- Maybe we can hear a comment or two from newbies that play the Martingale.  Ken

Even if the sequence from hell appears, loss limits will prevail. Loose then move on to the next session.

Mr J

I can even take it a step further if you dont mind passing out. lol A method (being tested) coming out in profit for one million spins is no different if it failed over the same one million spins.  Ken
