Friends and Grouches.......

For a long time I've been working on the Split Martingale--usually in Church so I miss the sermon on eternal torment for roulette players.  Anyway, after seeing this "wanting to win 1% per day", I thought about winning one unit per session.  One could raise the unit value as time proceeded.

The "flaw" in the Split Martingale is this:  It is supposed to cancel two losses for each win, and it does as long as the wheel plays fair.  However, when the wheel throws you several wins in a row, there are no losses to cancel and the method falls on its face.  I have come upon a slow and painfully grinding way to overcome this part of the method.  That would leave just the idea that one cancels two.  Saying it another way, you only need win one-third of your EC bets.

Simple rules:

1.  When you end a session, you may not begin again until at least four hours have past.  Let the wheel become a new wheel.
2.  You must loose your first two bets.  If you get a W on your first EC bet, you have succeeded and must wait four hours.  If you get a LW, you have broken even and must wait four hours.  Only when you get an LL do you proceed.

Here is the line as if there were several losers in a row.

1 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 ......you always add the first number left and right, except for the 1 1 3.  There you seek to win a unit on your next bet and quit.  Now, as you proceed with wins, you cross off or erase the outer numbers and then bet the "new" outer numbers.  Like:

1 1 3 4 5 6 7 8...Your bet is now 7 +1 or 8 units.  Always add your unit loss on your last bet to the right.  Always cancel the leftmost and rightmost numbers.  This gives the "one win cancels two loses".

You always quit when you are only one unit up and wait four hours before betting again.

Remember, its a Martingale, although a variation.  You know what it can do!

Ah it's a cross between the Marty and the Labouchere.

If I may suggest a stop rule? If you lose a certain amount of bets in a row, lets say 5. Then you stop and wait 4 hours, split the line in half and then have 2 lines that you have to cross off.

It saves you losing a lot and making a line that is 10 or 15 numbers long.

I agree!  In my vernacular that method is known as the "Reduced Split Martingale" and you're right.  Sometimes it's best not to get into too large a bet.

All remember....this is designed not to lose rather than win.  Winning is a by-product of not losing!

But after it's all said and done--it's still a Martingale.

A person may split the line anyway he chooses as many times as he chooses.  I simply chose an idea I felt had some value for occasional play.  The goal of the Split Martingale (HOW TO WIN AT ROULETTE by Norman Squire) is to eliminate two losing bets for each winning bet.  I just put a little extra something on his idea.
