I am almost sure this has been thought of before.  Any part of this that is similar to something you seen before is not done on purpose.  I thought of this on my own.  So here it is:

Pick your favorite even chance bet selection.  I like following the result before last.  It seems to catch all streaks, which is what we want.

Start by risking 1 unit.  If you win, continue to risk 1 unit.  If you lose, risk 1 unit again.  When you lose 2 in a row, you raise your stake 1 unit.  Now you are on the second level.  You continue to risk 2 units until you lose 2 in a row.  When you do, you raise your stakes 1 unit.  Now you are on level 3.  Remember to stay at your current level of risk until you have a profit or break even.

You get the idea.  Very simple.  Anytime you are even or at a profit, you start back at level 1.  This is the basic principle.  You could make this even more safe.

Let us say we are at the 5th level (we are risking 5 units).  We get a win.  We are now down 2 units.  I find it wise to risk 3 units now instead of 5.  You will just have to keep track of your losses.  This safer modification uses your common sense to lower your unit sizes to the lowest level possible to get a profit.

Advantages

low bankroll requirements.  I would say 50 units up to 500 units(real safe)
you increase your bets slightly until you can catch fire a little bit
    Easy to use

Disadvantages

If you alternate w and L.  You get nowhere.  No harm no foul-------just time spent
You might need a stop loss because an absolute god awful bad run could happen.  How bad?  don't know

I have tried this a little bit only, but with great success.  I love the theory behind it.  I wonder if an expert could test this over thousands of spins?

Using my bet selection I stated above with a safer tweak I showed above, this should be a great system.

go easy on me

Just a little example for clarity:  My safer tweak.......

Result   risk amount   bankroll

W     1     +1
W     1     +1
L     1     -1
L     1     -2
W     2     0
L     1     -1
L     1     -2
L     2     -4
W     2     -2
W     2      0
L     1     -1
W     1     0
L     1     -1
L     1     -2
W     2     0
W     1     +1
L     1     0
W     1     +1
W     1     +1
W     1     +1
L     1     -1
W     1      0
L     1     -1
W     1     0
L     1     -1
W     1     0
L     1     -1
L     1     -2
L     2     -4
L     2     -6
W     3     -3
W     3     0
W     1     +1
W     1     +1

I count 8  +1's.   This is just a made up example of how I would choose to do the money management.

any questions?

Any target is fine.  I am finding that maybe an even safer way to play is to use differential betting with this.  You could incorporate all 3 even chances at the same time as well.

Also, because of the alternating W/L gets you nowhere, you could make a rule stating that after 3 alternating W/L's you raise a level 1 unit to hurry things along.  I am patient, however.

I am having great success so far by the way.

Hi Keel,

Really like this stair step approach...it would fit in well with another method, as a sort of sub-method.

I will run some numbers through and get back for some clarification. Cheers

I would like to report that I have played a couple of sessions that were tough.  I was playing exactly as I stated above.

I was down about 110 units.  I was betting up to 13 units (level 13).  I am happy to report that this recovered.  I won about 10 out of 15 decisions.  I long streak of black came.  You see a streak of something will come sooner or later.  I figure a 200 unit bankroll to be safe.  However, a stop loss is probably needed.--------or a different bet selection.

If you follow the decision before last like I did, you will find that 2 red 2 black alternating will lose every bet.  I encountered this in my 2 tough sessions.  A long stretch of this made me lose 10 in a row.  Any bet selection should work with this "money management type" system.

If you reach a few losses in row only praying would get you back in plus. Eg. 11-22-33-44-55 you already lost 30 chips! Now follow -6 win (-24)- 5 win (-19) very slow home run! If you play just Black for example it can happen all the time when Black goes to sleep. The better choice to use that progression would be to monitor last 10 or 20 spins and count B/R coming in. Eg. 7B and 3 Red than next 10 spins play only Black trend.

Hermes, you have it slightly wrong.  You stay at your current level until even or profit.  10 losses in a row is -30.  5 wins in a row at level 6 gets you back to even.  It is a bit of a grind, but not to bad.

Remember, if you are down lets say 2 units and your at level 6 you can change back to level 3 if you want.

I say any bet selection should work

Hello,

Nice approach.
It reminds me a bit one of Kavouras' early systems.
Kavouras' betting stair could be modified to fit any chance. It is less aggressive than yours. For even chances it would look like this:

You increase your bet 1 unit every time you face
- LLL (3 consecutive losses)
or
- LLWLL

when you encounter WWW or WWLWW you decrease your bet by one.

atlantis

Another bet selection for this EVENS stake system would be to follow the CHOP and/or bet that a streak of 2 will end
eg:

R,B - bet for chop to continue eg: R

B, B - bet for sequence to end eg: R

If  a sequence of 3 consecutive colours occurs eg: B, B, B - no bet until change of colour occurs where you will then bet on the CHOP ie. B in this instance...

A.

If we lose 4 consecutive times, stop for a while, say about 20 or 30, or 40 spins, then resume with previous level.

I was thinking of keeping track of like 9 different bet selections for about 20 spins.  Then start betting on the bet selection that has been doing the worst.  You still keep track of all 9.  You keep switching from selection to selection using my money management scheme.

You always follow the worst one in the hopes the tide must turn around in our favor.

  1.  Just Red
  2.  Just Black
  3.  Just odd
  4.  Just even
  5.  Just low
  6.  Just High
  7.  One before last (Red and Black)
  8.  One before last (Odd and Even)
  9.  One before last (High and Low)
