Title: SCRAP the so-called 'sexy' section
Post by: esoito on June 27, 2009, 01:43:33 AM
I say scrap that section -- it does nothing to enhance the quality of this site. Quite the opposite in fact.

It's totally inappropriate.

This is a roulette site.

It's not a porn site. Or a mens' locker room.

Scrap it!

Hello dear Esoito,

Remember you can Ignore any board by visiting here:

nolinks://vlsroulette.com/profile/?sa=ignoreBoards (nolinks://vlsroulette.com/profile/?sa=ignoreBoards)

This functionality is there so each user can get the forum he/she wants

Many users ignore the naysayers lounge and the "uncensored pit" was the #1 ignore section in the past.

I hadn't viewed it in a while, so thanks for the reminder.  It isn't available until you sign in; therefore, if it offends you, perhaps just view the site while not logged in or just don't click it.  Since, no actual nudity is allowed it seems that the majority of people shouldn't find it too offensive.  I assume that Victor set it up that way so that women, the uptight and gays would still visit and interact with the site.

I feel that it does enhance the site.  I think if nudity were allowed it would even more so.  Maybe the donations that Victor needs would come pouring in.  Why not start a poll.

Should the sexy site be removed?
Should the sexy site remain as is?
Should the sexy site be expanded to allow nudity?

She is right. This is a roulete site. If any women are looking to become long time members, on thier first sign in they see that and maybe are going somewhere else. Besides it doesn't even have that lovely of women pictured there anyway.

Guys:

I typed this in the moderator's lounge area, but I feel I need to go public with some of this.  For a long time I have known about the "Private Sections" that many of you can't see.  I feel this is wrong.  We have a forum for some and another forum for others.  Some guy opens a private forum and decides who can get in and who can't--who is worthy and who is not.  I am sure many of the rank and file do not know of these private forums so I'm telling you now.  This has bothered my conscience eve since I became an administrator and could see them.  I should have spoken out long ago, but didn't.

Here is the post:

Lanky

I vote to get rid of it.  Yes, we can ignore it.

On the same note, perhaps you, as the Administrator, could do a little thinking on what this forum started out to be.  It would seem we have splattered in all directions like bird crap hitting black asphalt.

May I give a TwoCat analogy?  It's like we're all in this same boat rowing the same direction.  If you don't want to go that direction, get out of the boat!  If you don't want to row, get out of the boat!  Now, it's OK to yell there is a rock ahead and we are going the wrong way, but it's not OK to be a constant anchor bumping along the bottom and making the rowing harder.

Lanky, we desperately need a Mission Statement or a Prime Directive.  We need a yellow stripe down the road so we'll know which side to be on.  Guidance is essential.

My idea of a Mission Statement might go like this:  Our purpose is to find a winning method of play for the game of roulette.  We do this by freely posting ideas and systems--by brainstorming one with another.  We test our ideas against real spins at real casinos, or RNG if that's what the system calls for.  We post results--good or bad.  If we must bring in humor and tits, could we have a section in which everything must smell of roulette.  Another section could contain every thing under the sun that does not smell of roulette and those of us who are just interested in roulette could block the latter.  A split forum, so to speak.  As it is now, there are so many topics scattered all over hell and half of Texas, I can't waste the time hunting for them.  This forum used to be so user friendly, but--frankly--it is not anymore.

At the risk of being banned, I am going to say something else.  These "private forums" or "forums within the forum" need to go!  And now!  Someone opens a "private forum" and he and he alone decides who gets in.  This is wrong.  This forum was originally about "sharing".  Now you have to know the right person to share his system.  Why are some worthy and others not?

I will not name names, but the person opened a forum to give us all the "Holy Grail".  Anyone seen it?  Anyone in that group seen it?  Anyone seen the bet you could make over and over and over and NOT lose?  That's the "Holy Grail".  What did we get?  Hints.  More hints.  Backyard philosophy that didn't fly.  Purely illogical ideas that Herb and Spike would have become rabid over--and rightly so!  But the person got a lot of attention.  One member said, "Listen, XXXX, I'll not crawl........." and that's what the person wanted--people crawling for the "Grail".  I'll pick sh*t with the chickens first!!

Well, that oughta cook my goose!!

I know of a private section, and I know every member in it. They don't bother me really, but they do not conform to the forum's grand purpose of sharing knowledge and ideas. These people in underground forum groups don't have a place here. I can see the point of containing their research, but they shouldn't be doing it in this forum. There are lots of guests and leechers here - and I'm of the opinion that if you give nothing you deserve nothing back - but that shouldn't drive people underground. Why don't they start another access-only forum and invite people to join it? That way it's cutting out a lot of crap and skulduggery.

Anyone who has a more interesting topic or a better system than the current threads should post.  If you have something better, as in pictures of lovely women, please don't hesitate to post them.

@ Simon
It seems a little off topic, but I can barely make out the picture of the cat, too.

@ Sam
I am currently not a member of a private forum within the forum.  In fact, I was unaware that any existed.  I am aware that one existed in the past.  It would seem unfair to just pull the the plug on them (again I don't know if it is just one or many).  I would hope that anyone involved in a private study group/section would be doing their part to support the overall site.  Perhaps you (you bosses) could stipulate that the private members make mandatory monetary contributions.

Thankfully, it's now been removed -- a positive step, indeed, that can only enhance the standing of the forum.

Well done, Lanky et alia.

He wrote this in Forum Changes:

Hi Forum.

The sexy Section is now Gone.

I want to tell You that it was voted out by the Moderators as well as what was said on the Forum.

That makes 2 down now (The Naysayers & The Sexy sections)

Lanky.

Why on earth would you want to remove the naysayers section?

Look, most of these system players are lost in the believe that they've just found the holy grail when they're really just the 100th person of the week to discover the Martingale.

If you want to create a forum full of truly retarded gamblers, by all means, lose the section.  This will pretty much ensure that these people remain blissfully ignorant.

Herb

You can still naysay, you just don't have to go to the lounge to do so.

And if the thread owner doesn't like your tone, or comments, they can have them flicked into oblivion.

I know some of my comments have been given the flick.

Same is with Sexy section. It was for relaxation for all those system testers to break a bit from hard testings!

Gambling and sexy women go hand in hand...

Why are you trying to change the forum Esoito? It was perfectly fine before you came along.

We are not always going to get what We as individuals want.

You have yet to learn to criticise the issue and not the person raising it. That comes with maturity, of course.

In other words, play the ball; not the man.

Ridiculous indeed.  I noticed, in this very thread I used a non-offensive word (at least here in the States) for people that attempt to mate with their own gender. It was edited.  I can not change it back.  The edit chosen, changes the meaning of the sentence so that it doesn't make much sense.  The word used to replace it means the same as male.  I respect Victor, but not this (not sure that he did it).

I don't know Shorty other than having read some of his posts.  He showed wisdom well beyond his years in the advise that he gave Rpro as he neared his end here.  I imagine that is a big part of the reason he is now a global moderator.

continue quote

"In other words, play the ball; not the man."

There are times when a zone defense will not work.  Some "men" require direct and/or additional coverage.

You and you alone made the issue.  I certainly don't need another mom (or if you are a man, then a dad).
