I recently posted this in a thread and some person (no, NOT Victor) put it in The Bin section.
Well, that's not good enough.
Prejudice and discrimination are obviously alive and well in at least one member of this forum -- the one that binned it.
As a rather reckless act of self-disclosure that action revealed there's at least one person on the forum who obviously thinks the word 'he' is sufficient to include all the 'shes' in the world.
IT ISN'T.
In fact, the issue begs the question: are women welcome on this forum, and will members try to use inclusive language?
Here's what I wrote in response to a particular post:
Hmmm...I'm very aware you'll alienate the growing number of women who have joined this forum if you continue to leave them out by referring to 'he' all the time!
Apparently in your world all gamblers are male. And women, apparently, don't exist.
Time you became a bit more inclusive in your language.
And, no. This post is not being abusive. It's pointing out a fact that will save you from worse reactions than mine.
Take heed...
The issue is important if women are to feel equal and welcome here...so please take great care in the wording of your replies and opinions.
.......Who are all the women members here ......except for Herb :girl_wacko:
Cheers
Jakk ;D
LOL...dangerous waters, Jakk.
Better check under you car each day...although I expect Herb's shoulders are broad enough to carry the joke. :)
Wrong question, though.
Kindly stick to the issue!!
What is the issue i don't have one.
I don't understand this post.

Instead of saying "he" from now on, we must say "he/she" (so as not to presume that someone of undisclosed sex is either man or woman). Hurrah for forum equality!
(Maybe people should be made to display their gender in order to minimise "accidental offence")
?
In truth, I've only ever seen one "serious" female player at my local casino. She puts herself about well and plays the streets (no joke, when it's busy she will push the men out of the way to lay her street bets). I see lots of women with partners, some old, some young. None of them play, though. And I doubt any of them are on the forum.
or you could write "it" to save typing. ;D
esoito,
Is your signature sexist? :scratch_ones_head:
I see a lot of woman in my local casino, it's roughly 50:50 men:woman. But I'm guessing most woman don't take the game seriously enough to join a roulette forum.
Womens were never problem here I guess...
Problem is when guys are pretending to be a woman :-*

We have transvestites here ........ DAMN!!!!!!!
Guess Tangram's "it" would be suitable for those.....
@ Esoito ..... don't worry about Herb, she won't get her panties in a bunch ..... anyway I drive an ox wagon ...So technically it won't be a car bombing, but rather and ox wagon bombing .... guess a couple of steaks will be served if that had to happen.
I'll just step up and say yes I am a female, and no, not a male pretending to be one ;) Just ask my husband and daughter, lol.
I've never had an issue being one of the only females here. Just watch the WSoP, there are a few women gamblers but guess what - the majority are men. That's just the way it is, more men gamble than women. Period.
Also, I've never gotten the feeling that women aren't welcome here. At times, it's boys being boys - but I'm here for learning and I've realized there are some really great things here that can help you further your skills. And really, that's all that is important to me - not if anybody acknowledges the fact i'm female.
I don't know who removed that post, nor why he did so.
Ladies should be welcome everywhere. :)
Regards,
Marven
I agree with Tangram, I have often seen 50:50 men:women in a number of UK casino's and I think it's a shame that we don't
have that sort of representation on this forum.
I am sure they would make an enormous contribution to the roulette debate and introduce many new ideas.
Mr Chips
Off course woman are welcome here...... :give_heart: hihihi........ :girl_wacko:
Carlitos 8)
:D ....ehhh hallo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Off course women are welcome!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

I agree with celiza. I feel welcome here as a woman, even though maybe "he" is used usually. I hadn't noticed it and it wouldn't/doesn't offend me as it is (mostly) a men's world in roulette. However the macho attitudes did bother me, but I haven't seen them lately... so I guess Victor's has done a good job :good:
@esoito, I wil get back to you on this by PM later.
Vix
Women brings sanity into this World with Global Madness created by Men . And also into this Forum. All women, do feel very much Welcome!!

Esoito and Celiza, I hope you feel welcome here.
All these macho types oftimes are simply covering for an inferiority complex or big gambling losses.
Man or woman, the question is are you leaving with more than you came with? If so, now that's cool.
