Title: Deleted topic w/ my input
Post by: mistarlupo on August 21, 2009, 10:07:57 AM
Fellas (admin & mod crew, etc.),

I asked a question yesterday and guess what... the thread is missing today (it was not my topic)...
I don't know why it was deleted... the discussion was interesting.

So can you tell me why do you have to delete topics?
You've got another option - give a brief explanation & LOCK the thread. Much better if you ask me...
In case it is pure spam and you want your section clean - lock & move to "Trash" section.

It's like that all over the internet communities...

:good:

Which was the topic, mistar.

We did remove topics yesterday, (i.e. VLS shit forum).

They are at the forum's recycle bin, we can reinstate parts of it at the request of concerned members.

Hi Victor,

Thank you for the fast reply.
I'm not 100% sure but I think it was the one about the missing Thomas-Grant-poll affair.

No problem, I don't want it back... I'm just curious why it was removed.

Cheers,
Lupo

Hello dear Mistar.

We want to bring productive debate to the forum, so if bringing part of the thread back spawns more productive debate, then it has to be done (title changed of course).

What won't be tolerated are threads hanging around with titles like "Why VLS is s**t".

A very fine poster said to a few of us in private:

QuoteIn regards to the thread "Why is VLS Such a Sh*t Forum"...

It would have been a much better thread if it were titled "How We Can Get the Forum Back to It's High Standards" and then was typed out in a positive fashion.

100% agreed.

Hi victor

I agree 100% also.

Here is a problem I see If you do the math the system can't be beat right. Why because the odds are on the house side always.

I love teaching that's what I do. When I teach here I always bring light to area's that were dark since time has begun.I also bring proof to the table with facts that can't be disputed.so here is lies the problem my friend.

Why do some topic that are so helpful are deleted as I have made some great post's, At least the views state I really want to be heard. Yet I always post new things but it seems that some of the mod here thing the old can stay but nothing new can

I know it's a hard job foe all that take good care of this forum and I have all the respect that I can give to each that helps to be the best forum in the world.

I am young here as to most here I agree But I bring 40 years of great stuff that has never been seen ever and as I teach at times all over the world they say I would never have thought of that in a million years.

All I would like to see as long I give respect to this forum as I hope to get the same in return. And may I say I have been giving that respect by most here.

Nowhere else is better then being right here.
But here is another point.

Allot I teach what works and what doesn't The part that doesn't work I show facts that back that up.

The teaching of what doesn't work is so,so,important as to let people know that it's a bad idea to follow that line of thinking . This is always backed up with facts as I always do.

I never ever hurt this forum because I enjoy the people here and would not do so. But I feel when I post something and it gets deleted with the reason why I want to hear it. I don't mean a vote by the mods that just because they thing it's wrong I would then go head to head with them and explain why it should stay.

I know it's hard to swallow your pride with some of the old teaching but it's needed to get to the future where new idea will get the job done.

Mr. James. You and I have not interacted but I have a suggestion to help.

To keep it away from the topics erased, I think you should keep the topic in your section and just place a link on the general forum. This may not generate discomfort.
