Title: Internet gambler loses almost half a million.
Post by: TwoCatSam on September 15, 2009, 05:26:55 PM
Well, this sent chills down my spine.  This may kill internet gambling in the USA for good.

Take a long, hard look at the expression on this poor devil's face!  I may have to re-think this whole gambling thing.

You all know that back in the stoneage (before computers and internet) we had to travel to brick and mortor casinos. Quess what these artical where in the newspapers then too. It has nothing to do with the internet, just stupid people, that are willing to break the law to cover thier ass.

Isn't this an old story? We haven't played online here in 2 years.

I agree!  There are also cases of people embezzling to play video poker at the local Tote-a-Poke.  Many have lost everything.  I am almost to the point of thinking the psychologists are right--it actually is a disease, albeit a mental one.

No, it is not me, although he does look a bit like me.  I will tell you exactly how much I am down in wife-terms:  About six wigs, fifty or so trips to the manicurist, same for the hair stylist, about 100 pairs of shoes, and I've still got the handbags and purses to go!!  So I'm OK, but thanks for caring!

No, it happened just recently.  Around mid-September was when the article was published.  He is just now being charged.  And yes, the story is as old as gambling itself.    I merely published that to serve as a warning as to what can happen.  It can happen and it did happen.  A man from our church embezzled funds from a youth program.  The church had to repay it and we never were told what he did with the money.

When Barney Frank's bill comes up for debate, this and other stories will be used to show why internet gambling should be illegal.  What a minute?  It IS illegal and this still happened.  I'm sure Barney will point that out.

Gambling is rampant in Oklahoma at the Indian casinos.  The powers that be rave about the tax money coming in.  Not a one of these brains have asked the question:  Um, where did this come from?  There will be the devil to pay later on.

All I'm trying to say to people is this:  BE CAREFUL!
