Help!
I've tried three different video hosting services, one being YouTube. All of them limit their uploads to 100MB or ten minutes of time. Does anyone know of a video upload service that will let you upload files around 1-4 GB?
Failing that, does anyone know of a good video edit program so I can edit videos to a lower byte number?
Sam
EDIT: I found one of unlimited size for $30 a year. Called Motion Box.
Hi Sam,
Have you tried compressing the video? Those huge sizes seem like uncompressed raw video.
Not everyone around would like to directly download such humungous files my dear friend. Better to host them online at a streaming video site.
At nolinks://video.google.com/ (nolinks://video.google.com/) you can upload files larger than 100MB using the destop upload tool. I have seen videos over 1 hour hosted there -and its free.
Also, remember you can split the video in several parts to fit youtube and other sites.
Samster
Try google video first, if you get upload problems, please report. I am willing to be of as much assistance as I can.
Your friend,

Well, I already bought the thing and am using it as I type.
I had no idea Google had such an animal or I would have tried it.
YouTube, if I understand it, doesn't care about the size of the file; if it's over ten minutes in length they won't let you upload. This is a new rule, they say.
As to people not downloading my video, I doubt if they even read my drivel! Don't care. And some who will download my junk will swear I PhotoShopped it to make it look good. If their hard drive is so small they can't stand 4Gig for a while, that's OK.
Every once in a while I get an e-mail thanking me for something. That's worth the piddly price I paid for this service.
Lastly, I would love to know how to pause a recorder and start again when the dealer spins the ball. I could shorten a video from Gigs to Megs or smaller.
Anyone........

As it turns out Motion Box is a video hosting service that lets you watch the video from their hard drive, not yours. You only download it if ol' TwoCat has just blown your mind and you want to show the folks back home!! LOL
I'm good!

Good, that's the way! "Better to host them online at a streaming video site". ;)
I know google video (nolinks://video.goole.com) is generous. Here you can see confirmed 1+ hour at google video:

If you hit play you can see total running time is 1:20:41
Samster, now you have to use that service. Next time, ask first...
and wait a bit for a reply my friend! There are so many ways to get a large file out there for free! From split/join techniques so they fit into smaller hosts to "
Peer to Peer" distribution (BitTorrent, etc.)...
Well, at least they aren't expensive. Just be certain you don't renew that Motion Box bill. Specially now you know it is free with other places/ways!
Ah, Victor, but I am an impetuous person. Time and tide wait for no man. It's really a great site. The video is full screen in high-definition and all. Plus I got yet another e-mail address to try to set up an account at Dublinbet. If you only knew what I pay to have remote servers, addresses and phone numbers in Europe--all for naught--but that's another story.
Thanks for your help. I should have waited.
You're a good man, Charlie Brown!!

What are you using to record your video?
You could edit it. There are lots of programmes
to edit video.
I have this one and it's very good.
Note it's not free and price is in pounds stg.
nolinks://nolinks.freeserifsoftware.com/store/movieplus.asp (nolinks://nolinks.freeserifsoftware.com/store/movieplus.asp)
There are also a lot of optimizing/compression programmes but
most involve a loss of quality.

I use 321SoftScreen Recorder. Motion Box allows for unlimited file size; no need for compression. I will check out the editor.
Thanks
Sam
Hallo TwoCatSam ,

The 321Soft site says
"Control recording by hot keys, toolbar, or menu. Hot keys for starting, pausing, stopping may be changed to your habit"
So find what the pause hotkey is and use it to pause recording.
This is normal for screen recording software.
Thank you donrosso! I will study that!

It has a "pause" button that looks like the quotation mark. You pause it and it just freezes the frame and does not jump to the starting frame when you restart the recording. My DVR will cut out the commercial and I want this to do that.
