Playing roulette is your job?, or roulette simply give you some money?, or you loose with roulette?
You never play roulette as a substitute for a job. Think of it as fun.
I play for fun and when I lose I take the money as entertainment, and always win. Won the game or entertainment.

So, how you know when to get out?.
Is easy when you are winning, because when you get your target win, you get out. . Ok, but what happens when you are losing?.
Do you have to have a target lose too?.

Imo its a wise move to have a stop loss... Dont chase your losses on a bad day :)

Stop loss is a valid component of your game.
It is hard to cut and run from a loss though.
Not knowing your particular games, what I recommend is 90/10/10.
So, with a $500 bankroll at -$450 (-90%) the session is put on alert to turn around and grind back to $450 (-10%)
Or, lose another $50 (-10%) then stop at -$500.
It amounts to a psychological buffer zone.
At a $ 5 minimum table my bankroll is $600.00 which is divided into 3 different session increments of $ 200.00 each.
.
LOSS Limit is geared at $ 25 % or $ 50. 00 per session.
I am appalled that anyone would even recommend to consider a 90 % loss and if that does not work then go for the remaining 10% to try to win back the original $ 500.00. Beam me up. :nono:
When the loss limit has occured it requires utmost DISCIPLINE to leave the table and after 3 sessions the casino.
You , Sir , who recommended such a venture are a LOSER yourself with a lot to LEARN and it shows a lack of responibility to give even the slightest hint of such an advice. :diablo:
Nathan Detroit.
Sorry, my mistake.
By $500 I mean the money you bring with you to bankroll the current session.
Your total working capital should consist of a minimum of three and ideally at least six of these $500 stakes. So you are risking between 33% & 16.67% of your capital at each session.
You should only ever bet what you can afford to lose, but if you have spent one tenth of the time that I have in studying and practicing your game, then you should be at a point where $500 is not a lot to invest; a pittance in fact.
Like I said, I don't know your particular games, but if you can't ever trust your chosen strategy in turning a bad session around and grinding you out of a hole, then maybe it's time to change the game plan.
In the end it's all about the percentages, and you need to find an arrangement you're comfortable with. It is a personal thing, but for me, I prefer to give the session one last shot at it before I walk.

Nath, mate, you got me there didn't you... I'm just pleased to know there are a few clever Nathan Detroits out there getting some of mine back off them crooked casinos.
But please remember, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Now your way might not be the worst of them, but it might not be the best of them either.
