Title: Which of these two would you prefer?
Post by: Mr J on December 20, 2007, 10:42:38 PM
Which of the two do you have a better chance of winning in roulette (I think thats the proper wording) >>> A) Picking 10 numbers, ONE spin or B) One number, 10 spins. Ken   [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Mathematically its equal but since when does "normal" maths apply to roulette (4 standard deviations outta place is almost "common"  :-? )

Id prefer option "A" thou personally.

My thinking, the one spin, the BEST you can do is +26 units. Agreed? It is IMPOSSIBLE to do better than +26. I say 10 spins, one number is the better choice. Its at least POSSIBLE to get more than one hit. We'll even say that the number is picked by RNG, I dont care. Difficult? Yes, but possible. Ken

Hmmm good point on how you can get more hits by choosing option B but choosing the right number, now thats another story :D even a roulette computer would have difficulty in "predicting" at least 1 correct number in under 10 spins.

True but with the POSSIBILITY of doing better than +26, choice "B" is a better one. Ken

Hi Guys,

My vote is with B also.  I do 3 100 hundred 1 unit sessions with Ballistics most days, not recently though do to health issues. My wife is the best casino house man you could ever want as a dealer.  :clapping:  Grrrrrr says the bear !  And I can say after 11 months now of having tested this on my own using method B in MHO it is the only way to go!

Hi Ken glad to see you are back and posting again.  :)

best regards,

LeBear

Mathematically they aren't equal, because playing one number for 10 spins is 1 - (36/37)10~ 24% for at least one hit, but you could hit more than once if you play the whole 10 spins. Whereas 10/37 = 27%. But as we know (don't we?  ;)), in another sense they are equal, in that no bet has a higher advantage than the other.
