Title: Bannings and Feedback from members
Post by: Steve on February 23, 2010, 10:13:19 PM
I've been told particular members are bringing down the forum, and that they may have been banned before but eased their way back here when I took control. If there is truth to this, or if anyone thinks someone should not be here - you need to let me know about it. I dont have the time to read every little post and keep up with who said what, and neither do the other moderators so we need feedback.

If long term members are getting irritated at especially new members creating a fuss and generally making this an unpleasant place, I need to know about it. If relatively new members present a legitimate problem for the forum and more established members, the new member wont last long.

I may own the forum, but it is a forum for the members, and the members get what they want. But without feedback, I can only guess what members want.

Steve, way to go

It has been my concern there has been a wave of bitterness at this and other roulette forums, and I have frankly seen fit to keep away.

Here are you are the new owner you need to educate the fellow members about the ways they can act to help you. Very good to see you acting in that direction.

@all

There is a "REPORT TO MODERATOR" button at the lower-right part of each post. Members can use it to bring any message to the moderating crew's attention.

If all would hit that button properly, then that would be the most help you can provide to the well-being of this place.

Regards.

Steve, thank you for the "last postings" feature. Very convenient.

P.S. This is a still a best forum u can find on roulette i think.  I don't think it will be "brought down" by any bad-will people. So i want to thank u for keeping it alive together with very valuable info.

How about the truth, regardless what you want everyone to want?

I too have better things to do than "going back school"... let alone with loud-mouth bullies who run away by "banning" anyone who stands up to them.

I see you edited out the part about your "being engrossed with coding a new engine to prevent disruptive posts in advance".  What the h*ll kind of a life do you lead, Victor?

Or is that some sort of a psychological-defence mechanism "kicking in"... for making an even bigger "fart" out of yourself here?

Good for you, there's always a few "goodie two shoes" around, with nothing to fuss about but "keeping the peace".

Wow GARNabby, I didn't know it was edited shouldn't you had brought it to my attention (I.e. I didn't do it).

Well, it is true, I'm coding such a forum "for the chums". Won't please everyone (spammers, disruptors and the "I demand everything I submit to pass" crew), but the very few it gets to please will love it (I.e. purely productive posters).

Now I got the message from Steve, I'll try to be a constructive poster around and have it seen in my signature only  :)

No. And I hope I'm not a fart. See GARNabby, farts disperse with the air, I intend to stay.

Not Stevo's, those just "get in the pants"... and linger.

Garnaby, that's all great. What you wrote is absolute nonsense and your kind of attitute contributes to forums being an unfriendly place. Have your opinions but I dont care. You not only attacked me - you also attacked victor.

If attacking people is all you're going to do, you are not going to last long.

I do see that you have a lot of fantastic members. Taking the time to cultivate a kind, friendly, informative forum is worth it, especially here.

Although, I agree. Abusive behavior should not be tolerated. I mean, who wants to be in a forum that's abusive and unfriendly?

A few years ago I bought a forum too. When I took over the entire community was in an outrage about the "sale". I had to ban a lot of members, which was tough because I was the new guy on the block. I later found out that the reason why the forum was sold in the first place was due to a few overbearing members who virtually took over the forum with threats.

It was a tough and long process.
