Title: beginners questions
Post by: AnandMajumdar on July 24, 2008, 04:28:06 AM
Dear members

i have a few questions which every online roulette player has before starting but unfortunately most of them dont have them answered and start playing and either lose their money or get cheated by the casinos. so if these questions could be answered by you and probably pinned at the top, then most amateurs could read it and help them immensely

1. since there are hundreds of systems floating around, can you suggest maybe ONE or TWO of the most effective systems which have the highest success rate with the least betting and bankroll risk ? this could help amateurs to start off playing with these and earn some quick hits. this will help build confidence and they could get serious and then study other systems. I know its a controversial question but this I feel is very important. this is where your experience should come in to guide beginners

2. can you suggest a list of "safe" casinos ? in terms of "ethics", like true random number generation, bonus plan, quick payouts etc. this could again be controversial but since you must have played with numerous casinos you would know best

3. could there be some clarity on bonus plans ? most ppl here on the forum discourage taking bonuses but many casino boast of "clearplay" bonuses which seem transparent. is it true ? kindly explain

4. what is the authenticity of "ecogra" ? is it truly unbiased ? does a site with "ecogra" seal truly unbiased and fair ?

5. maybe have a forum section for beginners questions ? questions could be posted there and seniors could answer

please guide and help out

I moved your topic here as it fits the General Board but does not fit under Systems.  That is an area for systems to be tried and tested.

As to your questions, you will get many answers--many of which will be subjective in there is no way to prove/disprove them.  I, personally, do not trust the RNG method of play.  Other's do.

Bonuses?  Well, read the fine print.  Some require you to wager 15 to 25 times your bonus to get paid.  And roulette doesn't count.  You must play slots, Red Dog or some such to redeem them.  And--here's the biggie--some casinos will not let you give a bonus back and withdraw your winnings.  No, you are hooked!  The whole idea behind bonuses is to get you to bet when you don't want to and lose.

Honest casinos?  If I could, I'd be at Ladbrooke's in UK or DublineBet in Ireland.  As it is I'm at Wild Jack as I'm in the USA and am limited as to where I can play.  Also, among the websites rating casinos, Bodog (RNG) and Riverbelle (Live and RNG) are rated very high.  You might want to Google a bit and find those websites.

System?  Well it's not how well the system works; it's how well the player works the system.  And it's mind control.  It's knowing when to walk and when to play.  No one can tell you; you must learn for yourself.  Check out the systems testing area.  It's a good place to learn what has happened.  Be very wary of tests done at RNG casinos in play mode as you always win.  Well, one fellow told me this isn't true, but I just haven't had time to test his casino with a known losing system.  I am currently testing two systems and having good results.  You might want to check out the post by /Compa under systems and study it.

You will find many on this forum are winning players.  Check out the MattyMattz Challenge.  Do not let people tell you roulette can't be beaten.  I cannot win Wimbledon!  No one can win Wimbledon!  Which is a true statement?

Ecogra?  Well, who knows?  I like to think there is some agency we could go to if we have a problem.  I have had no dealings with them.

Fairness?  CasinoWebCam states in their terms that if they even feel or think you are using an illegal means to beat them, they can just cut you off and keep everything--even your deposit.  However, when I could play there, I won money and they paid.  When the USA was banned, they sent me $500 they did not have to.  I love their wheel--it's a John Huxley Starburst--the only one I know of on line.  But as Victor says, BetInternet and Ladbrokes use the same feed so why not play with them?

Victor decides on sections, but I feel the General Board is the place for beginners to seek advice.

Feel free to ask anything anytime.

dear sam ( is that your name ?),

thanks a million for your advice.. i agree with all of it.. it IS really the player who works the system .. some more questions, if it doesnt bother you :)

1. how does one tell rng casinos like wildjack that you dont want their bonus BEFORE you deposit cash to them ?

2. if you dont mind sharing, what is the system/progression that is your personal favorite ? that you use most often ?

3. from the drift of your reply i felt that you prefer live dealer feed over rng. any particular reason ? i live in a country where there are no land-based casinos so which one should i choose over these two.

regards for all the good work.
thanks

Yes, Sam I am!

OK, Wild Jack is a live wheel.  Yes, I prefer live wheels over RNG.

I just read the bonus section at Wild Jack.  They have what they call "clear play" which means you must wager 30x your bonus to get it all, but it is given to you in increments as you wager and roulette does apply.  You may withdraw your winnings and forfeit the bonus anytime.  They will let you deposit without bonus, but their bonus program "seems" OK and I accepted their 10%.  We'll see.

RNG...I feel they will not let you win long term.  I feel, and I have no proof, that they will place the puck where you're not when they see you're getting too much into their pocket.  You bet 35 numbers and they will hit the one you don't cover!

As to my preference, well, research the VLS Lw Methodology.  Search "Lanky" and read every word he has written.  He uses the six point divisor and swears by it.  He's a man you can believe in, even though he's upside down most of the time.  I am now very excited about the /Compa-LeBear system as modifed by 17Black and the system I "created" by putting two systems together and calling it a double-advantage system.  I use the software sold by Chicco Flash and the Bookies Corner system by murph.  It calls for either four numbers, six numbers or eight numbers per spin.  You have a bet almost every spin and it is winning so far.

You must learn to use "search" and find these topics and read them for yourself.

yes, yes, yes, yes and yes :)

i agree i could (and should) search for everything i need to know and i dont debate that this forum is by far the best and has answers to most.. but its a DIFFERENT feeling to talk and recieve live answers (with my name in the reply message) from someone with a 5 star/administrator status next to his name. cant explain that to you :)..its a um.. feeling.

clearplay seemed ok to me too, but thought i would check with you. LW is the one thing i havent been able to figure out. dunno where to start. or maybe i couldnt find the page where the base strategy is explained. though i am going to look it up for sure.. and all the other things you have mentioned..

have developed a couple of (basic) systems myself. though dunno if it would be too naive on my part to try and post it just yet.. will do so if i do feel confident about them .. i play roulette about 4 hours everyday , live in bombay, india and am a salsa dance teacher by profession.

regards as always

dunno if my views are worth too much but this is what i know as of now..

1. no system/strategy is 100%. From that angle roulette is unbeatable. it is the prudent application at the right time of all that one knows is what separates the winners from the guys who keep the casinos alive..it is knowing when to quit and when to keep playing

2. research, test, apply, read, study, try it manually, run a few thousand spins before trying anything real time.

3. do not play on borrowed money/money which is used to pay the bills/when you are tired, bored etc.

4. learn, learn and learn.

5. know when to accept a loss. the sum total of net wins and net losses should be positive. that divided by time spent to play is profitability. keep the expectation conservative. and play the european(if possible french) wheel.

what i need help with is systems/ strategies which YOU personally like or use often. IF you are willing to share it. something which has a chance for consistent profit with minimal drawdowns. also a list of "ethical" casinos to play with cause i havent played with real money yet, to be honest. With that help i can dare to play with real money.

have been making a few of my own systems. will post when i document it in a manner readable to all.

pls keep guiding

Andy

He is Italian and you must write him.  Send me an e-mail to twocatsam@cox.net and I'll copy his address for you.  This cost 100 Euro, so don't jump out and buy it on my word alone.  Let me run more tests and post more.  If it's good, it'll be good a week or a month from now.

You must use PayPal to pay him and his software is limited to use one one and ONLY one computer.  I can't even transfer it to my desktop from my laptop.
