I'm new here but love Blackjack, Craps, and European Roulette when we gamble at Vegas and on the Internet.
I gamble for a thrill and have fun - I don't gamble to make a living.
Here are my observations from 10+ years of going to Vegas and nearby casinos:
Random future events can't be forecasted.
I've never seen anyone demonstrate that ability and if it existed all casinos would be out of business. If someone has a verifiable way of forecasting the future dice throw, card, or roulette spin please do so now. If you can predict the future then you are wasting your time haunting gambling websites.
As a player you have NO control over future random events, nor can you forecast them - the best you can do is to understand the odds and play games where the house has the least advantage over you. An example is flipping a coin 100 times and 97 times Heads comes up - flipping the coin 101 time still has a 50/50 change of Tails coming up. No system can be devised to ever predict the next coin flip - none exists nor will any in the future. (OK, for you time travelers it can be done).
Money management can make a HUGE difference in your gambling experience
This is where I've had great success and I believe your gambling experience can be improved. There are many ways to manage your money, since you have 100% control over that part of gambling. I've not found any secret technique - just the ones that everyone knows if they do a few hours of research on the internet.
Just wanted to say hello and share my knowledge of gambling that I've paid dearly for over the years.
Can I be wrong about predicting a random outcome? I know that this is one safe bet that I wish I could make some money on. . . . .
i agree with that and money management helps alot.
I don't want to discourage anyone from having fun gambling - part of the fun is trying to come up with money management techniques that do reward you sometimes but in the long run there is NO way to beat the mathematics of statistics.
The only evidence of ANY ability to forecast future random events is in Blackjack and card counting. The casinos quickly responded with 6 deck shoes to make the amount of work needed and the little reward not worth the effort anymore.
I can't think of another example but I'm not any kind of expert on gambling.
So I enjoy reading about folks who have discovered super secret ways of beating statistics and are willing to let you in on their secret for $7 or so. This too is entertainment for me.
