Title: a waste of time
Post by: pins on December 18, 2011, 06:21:39 PM
all these systems win one unit are a waste of time unless you are playing large units. win a dollar or five. in the long run you will lose your banroll. pick three numbers and back them to win 50 dollars. for 40 spins. 6.6.6.6.9.9.9.12.12.12.15 15.15.18.18.21.21.24.24.27.27. and so on.  think big.

"unless you are playing large units" >>> Its nice when people eventually catch up to me. It gets lonely on this bus. I said it before, if your BR is like $400....stay home and play pong or something.

Several years  ago while  at the roulette table  of BINION`S HORSE SHOE in Las Vegas I had  a guy next to me  who martingaled   the loss of his  first $ 5 bet ( doubling along) and was allowed to bet the next spin with  $ 1,600 in cash. Well this cat was lucky when  his  color  RED came in.

Not only that, later that evening he  had a surrogate playing the same  martingale method for him . A few days later  I recognized this cat in a certain coffee commercial which had been taped at a restaurant  in Texas.

For  a  big bankroll  one also  requires  a  great method and not just shoot  for $ 5  and being stupid to win back the $ 5 loss  at all costs.

I have  met many strange birds  during tmy 32 years at the   casino tables.Nobody, but nobody can fool Nathan Detroit. He knows    B.S. when it is ripe and smells .WHEW!!!

HAPPY WINNINGS!!!

The beauty of a lucky spin (maybe a few spins) AND a nice size BR is that you can LUCK OUT and leave with a modest profit of around $300+. Playing with low unit sizes and shooting for the same $300, IMO, the house will catch up to you BEFORE you hit your goal. I have played quite a few times with $80 units (two numbers)....get a 'lucky' win 'somewhat' fast ($2,800 gross, minus maybe $1,800.......1K profit, out the door if I so choose).

Call that fast win luck or not luck, who cares? Does the dealer say......"that was a lucky win, I'm not gonna pay you your $2,800"?

Its such a hill to climb with a small BR. As far as playing a Marty? I could careless regarding that style of play.
