Please try again dear Talesman.

It seems the moderators group wasn't properly entered into permissions list. Now it is.

Kind regards.

Hi Droidman,

Thanks for your GUT tracker, it's very handy.

I know you're probably very busy, and this is cheeky of me to ask, but would you be able to create a DOS program for Mr. Chipp's 4Selecta system?

All test results have so far suggested it's a long-term winner and I'm sure there are many people on this forum who'd love nothing better than to have a program that automatically groups the numbers and indicates which group is the next bet.

From my testing, it seems to be one of those systems where it is quite easy to make a human-error mistake, so a DOS program or similar would be incredibly beneficial for those people undergoing countless hours of laborious testing.

I have no idea how long or how complicated it would be to create such a program, but if it is feasable, and if you can find the time, I for one would be very grateful.

Regards,
CD

4Selecta is a very easy system once you learn it.

I'm sure someone could create the program with ease!  However, this is the one that I plan to take to the live casinos and a program would not fly there.

Hi Sam,

I see that 4Selecta is simple to use once learnt, but even its designer admits that it's easy to make mistakes. If I'm gonna devote many days, months or even years testing, I'll undoubtably make mistakes, so such a program could provide me with more confidence as to the accuracy of the results and increase the productivity of the testing.

I had more know-how, I'd create one myself. I tried making an excel spreadsheet for it, but my lack of knowledge caused me to fail miserably. I might have to spend a few days trying to get my head round complex excel formulas...

If the test results are as good Mr Chip claims, I'd be taking it live as well!

My work is subject to mistakes all the time.  While I try as hard as possible, they happen.  So you're right.  A program would be excellent for home use and testing.  I can't write it either.

I would be happy to write a program to track (and test) the 4selecta system. BUT, I don't have a lot of spare time at the moment, so if anyone who understands the system well (I'm thinking Sam) could explain it in simple, clear and unambiguous terms, that would be a big help.

In fact I would go so far as to say that if no such "idiot's guide" is produced, the program won't get written (at least, not by me).

Sorry if that comes across as lazy/arrogant/negative etc,  but I have some experience in trying to understand Mr Chips' systems, and to this day I occasionally wake up screaming at 3 a.m.  ::)

Hi Bliss,

If you are up for writing a program for testing the 4 Selecta, and you can find the time, that would be absolutely fantastic mate!

I could have a bash at explaining how it works; but as I'm a newbie to it, I'm not 100% confident that I've understood it all myself, so I would probably end up confusing you more. I agree that 'chief tester' Sam would probably be the best man for the job, he's got more experience with it than most (excluding Mr Chips himself).

Cheers

I would be happy to write it, but I don't want to step on Mr. Chips toes.

Mr. Chips, I'd rather you do it, but you decide!

Thanks Sam. No offense to Mr Chips, but I would prefer it if you did the explaining. Very often an explanation is clearer coming from a newbie, because they tend to make fewer assumptions, and because they've already had to understand the system, and so are in a better position to communicate that understanding. On the other hand, the designer/creator has had no need to understand the system, all s/he had to do was create it.

I hardly ever read other people's systems because they almost never explain the reasoning behind all the complexity, there is no logical coherance, they're just (what appears to be) an arbitrary set of conditions and rules. It all seems like gibberish to me - there's no motivation to learn without a logical framework. But maybe that's a limitation of my feeble math-oriented brain.  :)

thanks Bliss, if you need a hand (other than Sams two) I'm usually in the forum during the week for hours on end :)  I feel I've got a pretty good handle on it as well.

I will create a new thread tomorrow in which I explain it from the ground up.  Tonight I'm too tired to think!

Hi Mr Chips.

I fully understand what you're saying about testers understanding how it works and the human element. However, my thinking was that program that groups the numbers, shows which group is leading and marks which group is active (for when if 2 or more groups are level) would allow for less human error, but still require that all important human intervention element when it comes to deciding when to bet and how long to continue betting.

The GUT tracker that droidman created, for example, simply tracks the numbers to show crossings and leaves the player to decide whether they should bet on a potential crossing or not.

I don't think a 4Selecta 'number grouping' program would neccessarily be an easier way of testing your system, but I do think it would be a more practical and reliable method.

Well, that's my thoughts anyway. But if you don't think it is a good idea then I respect your opinion.

Thanks a ton for the little program.  It makes my life easier!

However, I can't get the -1 thing to work as far as removing the last number entered.

Any ideas?

HI everyone!  You're welcome, nice to be appreciated.

Twocatsam, -2 is for erasing last entry, -1 does a backtrack.

ChickenDinner, I think bliss is working on a tracker, I'm not sure.
