Title: The experiment
Post by: Big Chips on October 04, 2008, 06:09:33 AM
Ok for your amusment i'm going to record the results of some real money games,a mixture of rng and live.

I intend to start with a 1 fund of 500 units at 25p chip size.As (if) i win, i shall increase the number of funds ,as these increase i shall add to each fund so that the chip size can be raised etc etc.I will also pay myself a small wage so that if (when) this thing loses, i might have made a few pennies. When i have made enough to pay off my mortgage and keep the missus in the life she is accustomed to i shall reveal what strategy i have been using. ;)

On a serious note this is more about money management and self control than anything else. I think that  having to report to the forum will increase my self control.

As the name of the post suggests , this is just an experiment,an ongoing diary of a money management and self control. If i can make enough so that i am playing only with the casino's money then thats all i'm really hoping for.A win target for each session is 10% of the fund but using some judgement it could be plus or minus a few %.I'm starting with £125.

Ok this could be the shortest set of results you have ever seen, or prove some entertainment for you all for a while.Where she goes nobody knows!

I'm off for the first few sessions, will report back soon win or lose.

OK just 1 session today as was running short of time, but a nice little learning session as well so some tweaking made.Afraid it will be small wins just now until the bankrolls grow bigger.

clint...if I keep on playing with 25p chips I should pay off my mortgage in around 214 years !!!!

Will the bankroll and bets keep growing?Can I turn £125 into a house? :o ::) :o ::)

Is it true? I heard a story, a guy who started trading on ebay with a paper clip, kept trading and finally traded to a house.

Hi luke

thanks mate.

All i'm doing at the moment is trying not to put myself in a losing situation.

Might sound a bit obvious but thats about all i can reveal just now, basically there is not much else to tell just yet.The first method i tried worked for a couple of sessions then got a bit rocky so i switched to a different type of system. So i can't say 'this how i bet' as at the moment it is constantly changing depending on the table, how i feel,my time limit etc etc.

So i guess that is my methodology in a fashion. If i continue to succeed in this i will no doubt change my thoughts and tactics and i will tell the board what i'm up to.

It's very 'organic' at this stage

Hey jhm

as replyed to luke, not really a system as such.More being a organic human being  rather than a rigid system.

As (if) it continues and a system develops i will tell all.But i would rather not say 'this what i'm doing' as if it were to fail i would not want to wipe out any innocent bystanders.

I see, you play al sort of bets? Flats bets, progressions. Numbers, streets, blocks, colour, high-low, dozen..etc?
Title: Re: The experiment
Post by: Big Chips on October 06, 2008, 06:18:00 PM
At the moment i've stayed away from the e/c 's and i've only dabbled with the dozens once for this experiment. It's been mild progressions only so as to keep the session lengths short.Variations of the attilla has been the most comman so far, but when I see that it's going wrong I change it to something safer and change numbers too sometimes. If you change and your numbers then come up,tough, they might not have done should you have stuck with them.Nothing is due to you.Thats I bit more of my methodology.

I might be on dozens tommorow, just depends on how the board is looking. The only thing I don't like about the e/c's and dozens/cols is that it makes for a longer game.If I was aiming for a target % of 2-5% I might do a lot more with them as the possibility of reaching your target is a lot more likely than my current 10% aim.But that might be my downfall :-\ :-\

Ok feeling a bit more settled now that i have 2 bankrolls and have paid myself a little wage.
Have had some stupid sessions that i guess i got lucky on and some others that went like a dream.Hey thats roulette for you.I'm a little worried that i will ride my luck out sooner rather than later so i given myself a boot up the backside and am going to play more carefully with lower progessions should they be needed.

The next few sessions are based on a principle coming from the 3peats thread.Again nothing is set in stone.Just i like this foundation to lead me down a slightly less turbulant path.

The experiment is on temporary hold for a few days.Have been playing rng and now sick fed up with it.Had a losing session. But had a lot of questionable outcomes recently. So in the midst of transferring remaining units to a live site to play on real wheel.

I know that rng is never as good as the real thing and i've enjoyed a good spell on it,but i sense a change in luck so if i lose on a live wheel a last i can't run to you all and cry i've been cheated, just unlucky. There is a big difference in my book.

SESSION 26 rng

Ok , have changed the money management side of things a bit.I was at a combined bankroll of £256 (1024 units). It is now just 1 bankroll that wiil increase in size in a stepladder kind if fashion.

Also will do weekly updates as sometimes time is short and to prevent thread getting too long with posts about individual sessions.

So,

Week ending 16/11/08 , Profit of £56 (224 units)

BANKROLL : £312 (1248 units) unit size : 25p
WAGES : £209.75
TOTAL PROFIT TO DATE : £391.75

Average session length 35 spins
2 sessions played

PS all real wheel

Another 3 bricks of the house paid for  ;)
