I've heard this theory advanced a hundred times if I've heard it once:
"Well, the reason your system won last night and didn't win tonight is the dealers. You had different dealers tonight."
Or
"Well, the reason your system quit working mid-stream was because of dealer change."
Or
"The only variable in the game is the dealer. Same wheel; same ball; different dealer."
I have weighed these statements when playing the 4Selecta. A couple nights ago I was testing a new idea and had an experience that was nearly mind-blowing. The ball would hit either next to my number, or if I had two with a pocket in between, it would hit that no-bet pocket with uncanny accuracy. I can see where one might think the Devil himself has a part in this game! (Had I been playing an RNG I would have sworn it was programmed to beat me!)
So if I were to apply the old adages about dealer signature to my loss, I would have to assume these facts into evidence:
1. Even though I'm on line and the dealer can't see me or my bets, she still wants/tries to beat me or
2. It just so happened that she spun that way--no intention to beat me.
Now, since my numbers were all over the wheel, we can't say she was beating me by hitting sectors as she landed right next to me. Since her play was actually all over the wheel, or it wouldn't have done what it did, she was throwing totally random tosses.
Consider this: Had I not played, the ball would have landed in the exact same pockets. My presence online was not a factor.
Consider this: Somewhere an online player with a different system was picking the exact numbers she was hitting and he was cleaning up.
The only logical conclusion: The wheel does things that are totally unexplainable. Since I believe this to be an undeniable truth, I can know that when I lose a session on the 4Selecta--or even two--I will also win as the wheel has no animosity for me personally.
Dealers have nothing to to with it. Nothing at all.

Nice read sam, [smiley=thumbup.gif]
It it curious how in roulette two "truths" can coexist for players.
Maybe some player like spino winning using "dealer signature" had a smile on his face when reading...
People see what they want to see and perception is the reality! (for each one of us anyway).
Regards and thanks.

You delve into the philosophical when you say, "People see what they want to see and perception is the reality!" Of course, reality is reality and perceptions will not change that.
You may have the perception the world is flat and because of your perception you refuse to travel. Your perception limits your movement regardless of whether or not the world is flat. For you, perception is reality, but reality is not your perception. I use "you" no referring to you personally.
When we believe something to be true, our minds seek evidence to support our thesis while at the same time, rejecting, ignoring or diminishing the value of evidence which would support the antithesis. While I believe there is no such thing as dealer signature, I continually look for evidence to prove I'm wrong as well as evidence to prove I'm right.
Frankly, I'd rather be wrong and find there is a way to beat the wheel through watching twenty or thirty spins and seeing a bias in the dealer.
Did anyone ever think of this: Maybe our dealer, Ballslinger Pete is also a pitcher on a weekend baseball team and some days his arm is sore and hurting and he spins different than others? Even the slightest anger or worry in the human mind will change our physical demeanor and the way we do things.
Dealer signature assumes people are the same day in and day out and throw the same day in and day out. If that's true, why do pitchers have "off" days when they can't hit a strike zone as big as my wife's---Oops, better stop there.
Lexus...My wife's Lexus!!

For starters, if you play the 4 selectra long enough, you will lose.
Regarding dealer's signature: It requires just the right wheel and a dealer spinning the right speeds.
It's not a dealer's "super" skill that makes it possible, it's more of a wheel condition that develops.
Without the right wheel, a dealer can't do it regardless of their skill and expertise.
However, a relatively new dealer can do it with just the right wheel.
I think the dealers influence is minimal. Why? You're not the only one playing at the table. More bets are placed. If the dealer is playing on a part or sector on the wheel. The dealer would try to place the ball where the lowest / none bets are placed. Your bet is only a (litltle, depending on the amount of money / players) part of the total amount of bets on the table.
The only person who can give us a clear view on this would be an experienced dealer.
Actually, dealer's know far less than you give them credit for when it involves dealer's signature.
Very few are even aware that they can do it. Some suspect they can do it, but can't figure out why it doesn't work as often as they would like.
Granted. Dealers who can spin any sector of the ball at will can be rich with a playing partner. Heck even hitting a 35-number sector at will can make a dealer and his partner some money! As covering 35 out of the 37 numbers still gives a unit profit.
It should be pretty easy to hit a 35-number section for a "skilled" dealer, right? ;)
Kind regards.
OK, I'm playing the G.U.T. on the Mircrogaming wheel. Nothing to do most of the time but watch..
As to throwing sectors......these girls do it over and over and over. Sometimes they beat the G.U.T. with doubles and near-bys.
But here's the deal.......
I've watched them closely. They do not start the ball from the pocket it landed in. They do not always start the ball at the same time. Sometimes they look around and wait a couple of seconds.
They still throw sectors.
I'm beginning to think sectors is nothing more than what the wheel is doing at this particular time; nothing to do with dealers. Dealer changes does not change the sectors hitting. When it's happening, it's happening.
Sam
Just a little bit more.............
While testing THE G.U.T. I sit a lot and watch the wheel. I'm noting sectors being thrown. Then the dealer changes and the same sectors keep being thrown. How does dealer signature account for this? It's in one of my films. I've seen it many times.
Last evening there was NO dealer signature from any dealer that came on. Helter-Skelter was the word. Or Helter-Scatter.
Anyone care to comment? Bloviate? Pontificate?
Sam
maybe previous diler had a scatter type of sig and when dealer changed that scatter was stoped an it was continued with another scatter just with a bit of delay in between ;)
BOO!
That response scattered my brain!
More study needed!!
Sam
A 12 hour work day scattered my brain today. Hope it's better by Sunday afternoon. I'm expecting to visit a little casino then.
Ron. :-\
I have had a flash of something.......
Sit still now.....
Here it comes.....
If 5,000 or even 10,000 spins are not enough to determine whether a system wins or fails, why is it 30 or 40 spins from a dealer will define a "dealer signature"? Why would you not need the same 5,000 or 10,000?
Sam
Maybe a dealer forgot to clean his fingernails that day. :P
So much emphasis is placed on dealer signatures. Most fail to read player's signatures. What?, exactly.
Player's signature is what casinos look for in an advanced player. Once they identify or suspect an advantage player they will refuse their bets. The might, in so far, as to ban that player and threaten them with trespassing charges.
Therefore, in order to play advanced roulette, one has to acquire the skill of disguising their player's signature in order to counter a targeted dealer's signature.
So, what this idea suggest is that dealer signature does exist; to what extent is determined by how much one believe they have an advanced player's signature.
Just a thought.

Mr. Li
Perhaps some day I will have to worry about casinos sniffing my tail, but not now.
I do worry about the questions for which I can find no answers.
Sam
Hello TwoCatSam,
It's been awhile since I expressed any kind of view. I must say, I have read many of your posts and I find them very interesting. I have observed many of your posts helping and teaching many about your beliefs in a sound and friendly approach. I have also read many post where you absolutely refute and provide evidence to the contrary.
Here is a question that perhaps you can answer? How are you?
Kimo Li

Thank you for your kind words and compliments! :)
I am well. I read you suffer from depression. I am sorry to hear that as my wife underwent that misery a short time ago and I know the pain it brings. She is now taking medication which has helped her tremendously. Her depression and manic behavior is the result of a stroke four years ago. She is just now pulling out of it. I think the depression was the worst part of the ordeal.
All of my life I have had A.D.D. but did not realize it until I started piano lessons. You're playing along and suddenly your mind is in a restaurant ordering fish and you have no idea where you are on your music page! So being a concert pianist is out!!
I went to the health food store and they sold me Ginko and some other stuff which I've been on for a little over a month. I actually think it's helping. I have only forgotten to bet once or twice in the last few trots and one of them was when the dog and the possum were having a whack at it.
But that's another story. PossumCam is certainly a possibility!

The G.U.T. and dealer signature/sectors.
Folks and people; friends and neighbors.
While Herb may be correct in saying I'm wasting my time studying winkel, there is a by product he might find interesting. (Or not.) I'm seeing a ton of sectors thrown! Since with the G.U.T. you have nothing to do but stare at Track4 and the wheel, you start to see things you would have otherwise missed. I realize I might be seeing an anomaly with the sectors also, as I have not watched a million or more.
While winkel would throw a stein at me for this, I'm thinking of using winkel and Gamlet together. Only bet the crossing numbers which are Gamlet sector numbers. Gamlet/winkel. Gamlet first as he was on the forum first. Or Gamkel! Or Gamwin? Naaaa
Anyway, I'm seeing a ton of sectors thrown--so much that I'm thinking of starting a journal of dealers to determine if there is rhyme or reason to it or if it's just the wheel doing what the wheel does.
But why would the wheel do that?
Sam
I would have made at least 300 units, in one hour, playing sectors tonight.
My brain wasn't up to it, though, so I just played dozens a few times and made +30. :(
hoper35
I say good for you!
Sam
Thank you, Sam.
Any win is good.
