Title: So.......what did we do to gingermolly?
Post by: TwoCatSam on January 05, 2009, 06:34:33 PM
Let's examine this brief episode.

This fellow claimed his system was solely based in math.  By using math alone he could beat the wheel.  If I understand him, he could gain a 40% advantage over the casino.  Let's face it--these are some pretty bold claims!

trylobit gave him some numbers to test.  I asked him to reveal his twist.  This he finds offensive?  He actually asked someone to test the Grand Martingale and who did?  Can't remember, but they person said it failed.  If he finds failure offensive, he best stay five miles from every roulette wheel.  Agreed??

He was told by kompressor, Victor and myself to lock his thread.  He chose not to.  Had he asked me, I would have edited his thread back to it's original state and moved the other posts to a Q & A thread.

Like the rest of you, I would have like to have heard the man's "twist".  I don't think he had a "twist".  I think he--like millions of others--spoke before testing.  In that thread, I see nothing anyone said that was offensive, demeaning or hurtful.

And KFS didn't even get to weigh in on this one!!

We move on.......

I doubt how good the person is at math if he does not even know about the binomial distribution..

however, it does not hurt to let the person finish talking and present his idea..Plus, patience is always a virtue, not only just for a Roulette player.

so the lesson we should learn here is that:

PLZ SHUT THE F*** UP before somebody finishes talking.. >:D >:D >:D >:D

"gingermolly

Please continue with your system.  We who have played the game a while are skeptical.  What you're describing is called the "Grand Martingale".  But you may have a new twist no one has thought of before, so please continue.

kompressor is right.  You--if you can--or Victor should lock your thread until you are finished.  You can open a Q & A thread in the "Child Board" as it's called.

Don't be hard on Lucky Strike.  He's a good guy; just impatient.

When it's all said and done, if you get it past winkel and Kon-Fu-Sed (KFS) you've got a winner!

Carry on!

Sam"........This was post #40 on his thread.

pighead...........

I and about three other people, VLS included, encouraged this person to continue.  Let's see--he/she has the Primary Administrator and both second administrators asking them to continue.  Three people encouraged him/her to lock the thread.  Lucky Strike took down his comments, whatever they were, as they seemed to annoy gingermolly.  The number of people saying "keep on" was almost unanimous.

I sent this person a pm as an administrator and told him/her to not let detractors discourage him/her.  I told him/her to stay away from the "Darkside" and to focus on his/her main thread.

Frankly, I wanted to hear the "twist" whatever it was.  KFS did, too. I regret each time a person comes on this forum and then leaves--for whatever reason.  If gingermolly is reading this, I extend the invitation to return.  As promised, I will clean the thread and he/she can lock it and continue.

"That's all I got to say about that."

i doubt he will come back from what i have read  :-[..not good..

whether or not his strategy had any substance, i wouldnt deny that he was heckled a bit..maybe not obtusely or directly .. but he was being disturbed i think..

intelligent or not we dont want to lose members..

maybe some ppl can handle interruptions and nay-sayers better than others. maybe some cant.

In either case its a loss..
