This story is about my first experience playing for real money online on an array of different casino games.
My main hobby is wagering on sports and I am okay at it and I do consider myself a sports bettor. In early Nov 08 I deposited $80 into my sportsbook account and began wagering on the NBA. I was doing pretty good I built it up to about $148 before becoming impatient. This happened on Friday night (Jan 23rd) That night I lost a wager in basketball and decided to give my handy sportsbooks' casino a try out of pure boredom. I started out with a game called SIC BO. I think I placed a chip on the #3 square and used a risky martingale and built my balace up to $150 which erased my sports betting losses. The next day I decided to give the casino another shot. I played SIC BO and a game called Battle Royale, which is nothing more than a casino's version of War. I started out wagering $10 units and before I knew it I was up to $250. I decided to stop there as I was up $100 for the day. Actually where I live was pretty cold outside. It was between 0 and 10 degrees F, so I just stayed home most of the day. I later got bored and decided to play some more. After the wins started becoming harder to get I lowered my unit to $5 units and still employed the risky martingale system until I called it quits for the night with a balance of $350. This just sounds too good to be true. First time online casino gambler and made $200 in my first day. The next day(Sunday - Today) was a little bit warmer except with about 2 feet of snow on the ground from last night. I logged into the casino and decided to give it another shot. Betting $5 units, started out winning easily, but quickly got hard. So, I decided that I would play all the game I was good at until I won once then I would move to the next looking to only earn 1 unit. Before I knew it I was playing Sic Bo, Battle Royale, Black Jack, and European Roulette. I decide to make it a cycle using the same martingale system. I would win one unit on Sic Bo then move to Battle Royale. I would win that and go on to Black Jack and Roulette. Then I would go back to Sic Bo and so on. As of now my account balance is a little of $500. I don't know if I should be at least a little apprehensive about playing the Casino or not. I feel that my luck could run out any time. However, this weekend has been pretty good for me considering I started it out and I took a $148 account and turned it into $500 nearly overnight.
racinivan,
Hello, mate! Thanks for sharing your story.
Unfortunately, most of us know how this story ends buddy... and it's not a happy end. :-\
Believe me, almost everyone got through this, it's like part of your gambling experience.
My advice - cash out your deposit plus some of the profit (for a drink or two ;) ).
And then continue gambling with the "casino money", but not too risky of course... it's your money at all!
Have a look at the money management section, there is some great stuff there & you may apply some of the methods.
Playing [version of] Martingale with 15 units only is way too risky, maybe you should use smaller bet units.
Changing games is good if that makes you more confident, but remember - odds are against you whatever you play.
Keep us updated. ;)
Good luck.
Update to My Gambling story.....
I have decided to use a different maney management technique. I chose a system I like to use when betting on sports. This will allow me to have a massive losing streak and still turn a profit. As of now I am up to $750.
