Title: Why Are Dublin's Minimumn Bets Different
Post by: Spike on February 13, 2009, 08:00:49 PM
In every casino I've ever been in, the posted minimum bet for roulette applies to the whole board. If its $10, you have to put $10 on the outside bets, or the inside bets have to add up to $10.

Not so on Dublinbet.com's real wheel. The B/R O/E and H/L are $10 min. The dozens and columns are $5. And the streets and numbers are .50 cents. You can bet .50 on a street and play.

It doesn't make any sense. Its like they don't want you to play the EC's. They must know that all the bets in roulette work out the same no matter where you place your money. Why are they so obviously steering people to the inside?

Same in my local casino at home town...
Min. 20u on even chances, but 1u minimum on a number/street/line. Ridiculous.

Reason? I don't know.
Betting inside gives lower percentage of winning... However, the house edge remains same... really can't understand their logic.

m

P.S.
Okay, they may play some mind game against the Asian people there!

If you do the math you'll see that there are no 'better bets' in roulette. Except for the oddball bet of 1-2-3-0, all the bets in roulette are exactly equal.

Are you sure its $1 on the inside? Most table cards that list the table min's will say something like $1 on inside bets, but the minimum is 10 $1 inside bets before they'll accept it.

Spike, did you read this:
nolinks://vlsroulette.com/live-roulette-casinos/faking-minimum-and-maximum-bets-plus-spread/ (nolinks://vlsroulette.com/live-roulette-casinos/faking-minimum-and-maximum-bets-plus-spread/)

That's not that bad when you play Low/High as even chances, you can actually start from 1.5 (0.5 per DS) and they accept it.

They do use the trick of giving you almost no time to place your bets. I'm sure it screws up a lot of peoples games.

I figured all that out a couple years ago. Dublin knows it, they don't care because if you can beat them on small bets, you can beat them on big bets. And few can..
