Well done!
No need to open a vein after all. (I'll bet you had a few nervous moments, though!)

You bet! Specially when the board appeared to be wiped out!! :o
Thanks god it is all done now and forum data is back. I'm not messing with server configuration for a while, you can be certain of that...

Thanks to you Victor !
Great job, very impressive with ALL posts back and no need to registre (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2Fgeneral-board%2Fupgrade-finally-done%2F...%2FSmileys%2Fdefault%2Fthumbsup.gif&hash=12122d66ba66a0ad8f02baaab6668018436517d6)
Hi Forum
We can Now add another great achievement to the Peoples Champion in VICTOR.
Well Done My Brother.
Lanky.
Great work you've done Victor, you're real legend! (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2Frichedit%2Fsmileys%2FYahooIM%2F48.gif&hash=63045f7530f9dbbd540c0aa77315fb40ff2b0d9b) (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2Frichedit%2Fsmileys%2FYahooIM%2F41.gif&hash=60ab31986673519d4447050e7308985ece41479d)
Some new forum features I see, but others are missing (I.e. the "monitoring tools" and the avatar shadow effect)...
Should we expect the old modifications back, or we're starting with this version from scratch?
Regards,
Lupo
Great work Victor!
Your friend,
Marven
As always....great job Victor. Much appreciated. Ken
Ah, mates, many thanks for your kind words
About the missing features: feel free to use this thread to request them.
Reflexion avatars has been a mixed-liked feature. I'm trying to optimize the board the most and as it loads extra .js file (external javascript) it makes for more page loading time, which may not be worth for a single visual effect!!! Perhaphs we should poll it.
And yes still there are files to be updated. Instead of bringing the old sources to this server this time I have chosen to start from scratch and re-build them. We can (and have) get rid of many internal errors this way.
By the way, anyone finding the rich text editor useful?
As almost everything at first implementation gets the nasty bugs which need ironing, but is it certainly more pleasant than the regular "text hole" we were typing at, which makes me happy, as we are advancing forward (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2Fgeneral-board%2Fupgrade-finally-done%2F...%2Frichedit%2Fsmileys%2FYahooIM%2F15.gif&hash=31a59b99b64930ee58a87374b049354dee68f2f1).
Cheers.

I've got this problem in the profile menu...
From the left panel -> Modify Profile -> Forum Profile Information, I always get a blank page. (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2FSmileys%2Fdefault%2Fhuh.gif&hash=f795710d5fee63240d4130eb33a5465ab32eec65)
It's not something critical... Victor probably knows about it, but I'm reporting just in case.
Take care.

I'm not aware of many errors my friend, this being one. Remember as this is a new server, sometimes a single line missing/misplaced from what we did import can create havoc. I.e. previous .htaccess has been put to rewrite all of our redirects, and it was affecting the chat not loading, which is fixed by now.
Please do keep on reporting. It is paramount and appreciated.
I'm aware of chart, colors, colorsb and other tags still not working, but it is these type of errors you are reporting the ones I appreciate to be reported. And hey, do not always assume I know! Because I can't be aware of everything the board does!
P.S. I'm trying to give a fair share of use to the Rich Text Editor. Sorry if I'm constantly changing fonts, etc. still needing to confirm everything works, and no better way to do it than using it, a lot!.
Working with this Rich Text Editor is so much easier than formatting text the old way via code, just select it and apply!! I have a suggestion. Take a break!

I totally agree with that !
Rest a little Victor, you need it I think. (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2Fgeneral-board%2Fupgrade-finally-done%2F...%2FSmileys%2Fdefault%2Fwink.gif&hash=a2a59e7d60457dee7a652a34afa8025eea74c1f6)
Vic
You have done a fantastic job so far. Yes, I know, that there will be some bugs and stuff. I am sure, overtime, all the bugs will be ironed out. Most important thing is that forum is back and running. You take a break and we will do our best in reporting bugs which will be fixed in coming days.
Cheers

Wnolinksweeellllll...seeing as you asked!
The smiley icons don't appear as graphics.
Instead, the link that points to them appears instead. (Like this: (https://www.vlsroulette.com/proxy.php?request=nolinks%3A%2F%2Fvlsroulette.com%2Fgeneral-board%2Fupgrade-finally-done%2F..Smileys%2Fdefault%2Fwink.gif&hash=f3fcf35db27cb9592a77f802cdd6e8e35d9c92f7))
Eeyore was even more gloomy when I told him. "Poor old Victor," he said. "Remind him that if something can go wrong it will."
I told him you already know that! :) :)
Ahh, had to take out the cool Rich Text Editor :-\
I have limited week time and better do what's really needed, also some browsers like Chrome didn't react too well to editor integration (i.e. didn't recognize posted text), so I guess we can live without it. We can't afford to lose posts from Chrome and non-supported browsers our of pretty formatting, though I'm sure in the future rich text will be back... setting up a test forum at some other place on the web for developments... Not going to touch this one in a while.
Now I only have to check what is messing with our register function. One thing at a time.
