A crappy trivia question. I had a terrible day at roulette playing furthest back unhit split (skipped 8 spins before starting). My progression goes from 1-50, $2,040 if I lose. I lost $2,040 today. My question >>> Why does this loss stand out? Lets see who gets it correct. Ken
Seems as though you lost on your 1st go and left?
Damn that was fast. Yep, not one win. I still remember...it was the 11/14 split. USUALLY when I lose, I have some wins under my belt first. Between $300-1K, and then lose. You would not believe the number of times 35 hit (next to my 14). Oh well, what a ya gonna do? Chalk it up and call it a day. lol Ken
OK, call me nuts but I believe when you start getting "nearby" hits, the wheel is talking to you. Rarely do I have a day like that that gets better. They usually go downhill.
When I'm on 28 and 29 and I get the 7, I think the wheel is talking to me.
"Not your day, Sam. Not your day."
Ken
I'm sure that hurt a bit. We can all identify.
Sam
"call me nuts but I believe when you start getting "nearby" hits, the wheel is talking to you." --- True but that talking you hear could go the other way? "Almost" hitting your number(s) over and over COULD mean that it'll hit soon. I think the 35 came up 8 times and the 7 came up around 5 times. I was pumped being so close while betting. Not so pumped walking out the door. lol Ken
I've been there many times trying to learn and tweak systems that I thought were "foolproof" after extensive testing. It can and has gotten expensive.
I dusted myself off, decided the wheel wasn't going to ultimately beat me and returned to play again when I was ready.
Hang in there :)
There are many versions of furthest back play. This is not my first loss playing the split method but I might put it on a shelf. After "X" number of losses, I stop playing it. Ken
I even stayed 12 spins after I lost my BR and it still did not hit. Was thinking about an old post of mine. WAITING until the split does hit and then start progression on it. The SAME split being a sleeper back to back??? Ken
It would have worked good at my table today. 14-17, though.
Ron.
QuoteWAITING until the split does hit and then start progression on it.
Kenneth, in my opinion this is better. Also, I know you are the big brass balls mate, but fellow spanish player GoodHand recommends backing up a number for 24 spins (Two Thirds of a cycle) and if it didn't hit, then move to the next 1-number selection AND I also recommend using either flat betting hunting for concentration of hits or a very soft progression 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.... Rising +1 each failed 24-spin attempt.
For a split we are talking 2/3rds = 12 spins per attempt, same slow progression...
;) But nah, you're a big brass balls guy, you wouldn't go slow on a progression [smiley=laugh.gif]
"you wouldn't go slow on a progression" --- Not really. Win big or go home. BUT, I like the thought from GoodHand. He does have a point. I'll have to mess with that on this rainy Sunday afternoon. Thanks as always for your post Vic. Ken
SIDENOTE: I made a nice profit today....WAITING until the split hit, then started the progression, works better (my opinion). The reason I like "waiting" >>> I get THREE separate gaps in order for me to get my win. A) Looking at tracked numbers and finding the furthest back unhit split. B) Waiting until that split hits. C) Then start long progression on that same split. I'll play it again on Wednesday. Ken
QuoteThis is not my first loss playing the split method but I might put it on a shelf. After "X" number of losses, I stop playing it.
Kenneth, fellow player GoodHand also does this, on his opinion systems also have a "lifespan" past the initial results, they will "give back".
I think a good approach to new systems is the "half peak" technique: you let it build without limits, but when you are giving back 50% of what has been gained, you "put them on the shelf" like you do.
Of course, giving you start winning, I'm sure for some not a single dime is to be done, but yes, according to GoodHand's methodology as they do usually start winning, why give it all back when going down if you already know you'll end up losing the other half? Goodhand said once he creates NEW systems (or modify existing ones to the point they are like new) due to this factor.
I forgot to report back from Wednesday. I played again, waiting for the split to hit....then start progression. It works much nicer, netted $660. It is more time consuming, no question about that. Like I say, I would rather spend more time there if I feel the "payout" will be worth it. Cracks me up, these people that want to play for 41 minutes and walk out with 2K. lol Ken
