Title: Review of 'The Roulette Winner'
Post by: purple on May 02, 2009, 12:01:26 PM
Here is my review of  'The Roulette Winner':

I had a good feeling about this book when I first read about it so I  went ahead ordered it and I have been pleasantly surprised by its completeness. Here are some of the features:

1)What is very useful is that it explains the structure of the numbers and their qualities on the roulette wheel using diagrams. This is very user friendly because as we know there is a difference between the betting table and the wheel layouts. All the betting methods it shows are shown using these diagrams which means that even if you're a visual ballistics player targeting specific sections of the wheel this book shows you how to quickly cover these sections on the wheel AND also how to achieve this by using the minimum amount of units. ( using lanes, streets, squares etc).

2)It covers most roulette topics such as betting bothinside and outside numbers, progressions etc but limits the progressions to acceptable risk to profit ratios if you're targeting sleepers. So for instance the author advises against placing 150 or so bets hoping that your single straight up sleeper will suddenly appear because the risk to profit ratio is not good. Indeed playing for five hours, risking 150 units to win just 1 will test your patience and nerves to the limit. This is very sensible.

3) The book also gives clear examples of the known systems such as:Fibonacci, Guetting, D'allambert, Oscar's Grind, Parley etc for betting on the even chances and also using Differential betting. I haven't seen this anywhere else explained so clearly.

4)It has very useful diagrams showing pocket distances between numbers, for each number, if you're playing dealer signatures

5)It gives useful advice on money management and many examples of using this. Its a proportional betting method he recommends.

6)A fair part of the book goes into the psychology of gambling and explains how we set up ourselves up for losing before even going to gamble and how to change this. It asks the reader some very probing questions helping him to understand his real motives for gambling.

7)It uses mnemonics to show you how to memorize a roulette wheel.

8. It has a very easy arithmetic section that shows you how to calculate the odds of most bets. Very useful!

So over all it is a very well written book with a down to earth approach. I tested its dealer signature method at the casino and won 520 Euros in three hours play. The funny thing is that at one point in the game where I was breaking even the dealer said to me jokingly "oh is that THE manual". Not wanting to draw attention I also said with a smile" yes, its filled with astrological calculations and it tells me exactly where and when to bet!" Everybody at the table mocked and laughed. After my numbers hit, as I collected my winnings I rubbed it in:" And you were mocking my manual!" I said...They still laughed but when I got up to leave the players next to me wanted me to leave the ' THE' manual behind! No chance...

My only criticism of the book is that it concentrates on the single zero wheel so the part of the book dealing with how best to cover the betting layout would be useless to thoseplaying a double zero wheel, but then again the author says that he did this on purpose because of the difference in the casino advantage. So if you're in the US you should scout for a single zero wheel. I liked the book very much. It's a no nonsense, no waffle, book , good to have on you when you play. It does not advocate just one method of play but gives you instead the visual resources to use when betting. Well worth the money. Many other roulette books I've read are very cumbersome. You have to plough through half the book before you're even given one practical suggestion on how to play. "The roulette winner" is exactly the opposite of this. It's filed with diagrams and charts revealing 'every trick in the book' so to speak, giving you the player the choice on how to best use it. I've made money with it so I can't complain!

Thank you for taking the time to posting this review my friend.

Hopefully it is well debated as first-hand comments are always appreciated. By the way, your "THE manual" anecdote was excellent! Everybody is a skeptic unless they see what you do is working!

Best regards.

Your friend,
Victor

Yes Victor I believe that there is no substitute for just telling it as it happened.

By the way I noticed that one can now download the book at the main website as a PDF e-book as well, and for a fraction of the cost .
Great buy, thoroughly recommended!
