Hello dear friends, quick question:
How important is the spell checker functionality?
It happens that among one of the many modifications to our forum's sourcecode there was a "Poo poo" to the spell checking functionality.
The goal for this month is to bring all of the functionality we had back to devote second half of 2009 to improvements, so it is important for me to know if it is worth a forum reinstall. It is right now or mid 2010 as we are allowing one year for the new version of forum's core to "mature", then we do the upgrade, and I need your opinion on how important this is for you.
Thank you.
Victor
Hi Victor
I know that a lot of posters do not usually worry about their spelling, however, I am one of the few ones that would like to see a working version of spell checker (which is a great little feature).
Cheers

I didn't even know we had a spell checker... so obviously no biggie for me.

something I think needs to stay pls Victor :good:
Unlike Matty not all of us can spell..... ;)
We are 2 to 1 in favor.
I'll do my best in fixing the bugger, although as usual when dealing with computers, reinstalling is reasier than debugging, but having to rebuild the whole forum again for a single feature isn't that appealing, but on the other hand, main goal for this month is to bring us back to the exact point we were (feature wise) before latest upgrade.
I'll do my best in debugging. If anyone else (grammar-friendly) would like to give his/her opinion on the spell checker, by all means :)
I need a spell checker and if you look around at the forum you will see there is members that have to use one but i am not sure they know that there has been one
Please. I use it a lot. English is my second language and sometimes I wonder about the spelling of some words. Most perhaps do not worry, I do. Even if my grammar is incorrect, at least I hope my spelling is correct
I like it. I try to remember to use it, but I think we can live without it, at least for a while. Could you just fix it the next time you have to do some other major work to the site and save yourself some trouble? RP
Frankly, Babs, your written English is much, much better than many posters on this site for whom English is their first language!
Congratulations :)
My vote is to keep the spelling checker with options for both North American and non-North American spelling (I.e. colour/colour theater/theatre and so on) if possible.
Many people need the spellchecker especially if English is not the native language.
Without corrector we can all live, but better to have the aid. Even the local americans need some help because they know it sounds like a word is not always knowing how to spell it!
Thanks for repairing the corrector, we need it enabled forever.
