Hello everyone, long time reader, first time poster.
First perhaps a bit of a back story before getting to my main point, this can be skipped if you are not interested :P
I never gave gambling much thought until one day i found myself in a Casino after getting bored of looking at the Niagara Falls. I had never been before and was simply curios, only planning on watching my friends play. I must have spent at least half an hour shouting at my mates for falling for the gamblers fallacy, before deciding to show them how its done so I put $20 on red... I won... and I liked it. I put the $40 on black... and I lost... i reached for my wallet again. I was partially disappointing in myself, I pride myself on being logical but I had the gambler itch! Thankfully what followed was not an addiction to gambling and financial loss, but addiction to researching roulette, both on the Internet and using computer simulations.
This IS an addiction, be it not financially, but it does take away from my life, it was all I thought about for months thanks to the lure of easy money. I wasn't convinced that there must be a winning system, in fact I am quite a sceptical person, but I HAVE to know for sure either way – only then can I let it go. Months of researching the internet and writing roulette simulators at work and running them over night, regrettably, is driving me to the conclusion that it probably cant be beat :'(
After researching the Internet, and finding this forum, I feel that analysing roulette systems are far from an exact science, we need to get organized, find real tangible results that can be built on. What works? What doesn't? I feel the need to be more methodical in your search for an ultimate system. Or else be forever running a random assortment of simulations, sometimes winning, sometimes not...
I don't mean to look down on your methods here, there is a lot of good work being done here, and clearly very intelligent people and skilled programmers. Its just that the number of systems that to be found on here is mind melting, I don't know where to start. All I'm saying is that I do not get a feeling of progress when surfing this forum. Lets be more scientific, methodical and get some concrete results that can be built on rather than graphs of systems sometimes working well and sometimes not.
Again, I am not dissing this fascinating forum, it is far from my place to barge on in here and insist on a revolution, I simply wanted to share my opinion on the matter along with my ideas on how to proceed, which I will get to after I get some initial feedback.
I am sure that mine is a story that many many of you can relate to, this near-obsession about finding a winning system is getting in the way of my life, I want to know for sure if it can be beat or not, and what the optimal system is, if indeed there is one, so that I can get over this! My sceptical mind tells me no, but then there do seem to be some promising results on here, and some people ARE making money off roulette. . . aren't they?!
I look forward to sharing my ideas and getting your feed back,
Raion
All you have to do is check out my section, man. I'll load your pockets right up. $5000 in 10 days says I'm king!
Or if you would like to try a more logical way, there is always advantage play. You seem level-headed enough for it.
what is `Advantage play'? I have not come across this.
Thanks
Raion
Welcome to the forum Raion,
Remember that quote: "Be the change you want to see in the world"
Feel free to show the results you have obtained. Good or wrong, they are there to improve roulette information, and perhaps they may prevent others to go through the same steps which can act as a time-saver and that person may derive some benefit.
As to the "beating roulette" part:
Some are convinced no stiff "system" can beat roulette, others are convinced only a solid roulette "method/strategy" (which may involved playing a system at particular moments).
Others say only the device can de beaten, others say pure bet selection is enough, others say you can't win flat betting, but need a progression...
In the end, in a game with so many betting locations and many available approaches, the only thing remaining is for each person to choose their favorite way which suits him/her personally. Nothing wrong with that, and we are open to know which is yours, where are you in terms of results and teaming with you to brainstorm and develop more on your conclusions.
Thanks for being aruond and hope you bring that much required scientifical approach to the game.
Your friendly forum admin,
Victor
Feel free to PM me and I will enlighten you. :)
Lw Baby, LW all day long. Advatage play is all played out.
An excellent book I got is "The Roulette Winner". It explains things very clearly and in a user-friendly manner. The site is: "nolinks.theroulettewinner.com"
You're right about not being able to beat the wheel with a mechanical system.
Welcome to the forum. One thing I've learned about roulette I compare it to a football game.
Take a football team for instance. If they run the same offense play after play. Then guess what. The defense will know what to expect and where the runner is going.
Same way with roulette. And I have learned a great deal from some of the great minds right here on this forum.
Pick you several play patterns. (Offensive stratagies) don't never stick to one. It will only work for a while. Ever try the martingal....? oops, be careful saying that "M" word on here. It does work for a while but then suddenly you'll get burnt and burnt bad.
Try several different patterns. I'm with VLS on this. Find what works for you.
Happy Spinning! reb.
Thank you all for the warm welcome and the tips, I'm more then happy to share some of my finding with you VLS, I'm just collecting some results now. Watch this space. . .
