Title: Moving and locking posts

What is the reason for moving and then locking posts ?

Hello Nathan,

I believe you mean those locked "Moved" threads which pop every now and then.

Those are generated by the forum automatically as a notice about a thread being moved either by the user or the forum staff.

Usually the original thread keeps its same unlocked status. Simply follow the link at the moved topic notice and find out  :).




As you may be aware of, the forum now has turned into a self-moderated one.

Which means under this new framework each user has full rights on their own threads, now a thread owner can:

- Remove messages.
- Move thread to another section.
- Lock/Unlock his thread.

And that's pretty much it. Those "MOVED" threads are just notices to tell people about a relocated thread.

As they are automated, it helps thread owners not having to send PM's to those who replied and help interested readers find them.
