Title: Gambling taxes
Post by: roger on December 05, 2007, 05:28:52 PM
Hello everyone,

In the Netherlands we have to pay 25% Gambling taxes, yeah its ''A LOT'' i know, and the funny thing is here we have just one legal casino of wich the goverment is fot 75% co- owner.
I was wondering, because there a lot of people from diffrent countries, how much tax do you have to pay?

Fine question Roger. I am curious too.

Over here -Venezuela- it is 0% (zero, nothing). What you win at the table is 100% yours. [smiley=smiley.gif]

They get your losses in full, why wouldn't you get your wins in full?

Maybe you can log in Dublinbet or any other live wheel casino and get a more fair treatment regarding the "big brother's" cut on your gambling.

Title: Gambling taxes - Portugal
Post by: Wildcard on December 05, 2007, 09:14:09 PM
Good Topic...

If you gamble and win at casinos here in Portugal, you keep your winnings, which is  [smiley=thumbsup.gif] . This happens because the casinos winnings are heavily taxed themselves.

Our law defines the games that are taxed at 25 or 35 % :

- (Prizes from) government lotteries, raffles, "mutual bets"  (whatever that means ), and the games of lotto and bingo.

This means that if you drop  ;) a chip on a straight-up number at single zero table and the wheel happens to make your day, you get your 35 chips and walk away happy aaaaand ... tax free.  [smiley=cheesy.gif]
