Title: More Inspiration
Post by: stavros on September 20, 2009, 07:45:35 PM
Yesterday I posted a quote from Fulltime Gambler by Louis Holloway. Today I post a quote from my other must read gambling "bible"!

from "Power Baccarat 2" by Byron F. Hebert            pg. 245

Can you make living playing baccarat? The answer is a qualified yes. It must be qualified because very few players have the required skills and fewer yet have the burning desire to quit their jobs and play for a living. But anyone with sufficient motivation and dedication can become good enough to make a living playing baccarat.

Baccarat, along with sports wagering and poker, would bt the three most logical choices if one wanted to make a living as a professional gambler. Baccarat would be the best choice of the three. However, the game then becomes your livelihood, not a recreational pursuit; a transition that is possible, but extremely difficult! When the vast majority of recreational players don't even take the time to become somewhat competent, it is difficult to imagine anyone making the commitment required to become a professional.

Anyone considering such a radical change should first become an expert player, then put together a sufficient bankroll, and start a transition period of part-time play (while employed) to guage the potential for success. This transition period must be long enough to become ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that one could indeed make a good living playing the game!
