Do any of you play roulette daily for a small unit win...
I mean...would you play once a day just to win 5-10 units?
I'm thinking of trying this...I don't think there is a system that works yet...

I know of some players who only play for a small win but with bigger chips..but like anything else you must be able to win.
There have been many stories on many forums about people setting themselves a challenge to win just 1 unit a day.
Sounds great in principle, but what about that day that takes them -20 in the hole?

Winning 1 unit or winning a 1000 units a day. You still need an edge in the long term. Many short terms makes a long term. Long term advantage can only be achieved with advantage play. So if you win 1 chip every day for the rest of your life, you have won in the long term but this can and will only happen if you have an edge. What Far-Q says is 100% correct. If you do not have an edge the losses will wipe you. 2,7% house edge.

Great question, applies to Roulette and Craps - can you bet a few times and make big bucks over the long run?
No.
Sure luck plays a part but eventually any winnings will be met with loss after loss after loss.
However I play the Powerball lottery and use the same numbers for 10+ years now - I win a few bucks every once in a while and I don't plan ever to win; but I play nonetheless.
This reminds me of a story about a person who, each week, prayed to God to win the Powerball. He lost and lost and this went on for decades. Finally one day he started his normal prayer to God and the sky opened up and the thunder and lightening ripped the roof off his house and God's booming voice nearly broke his ear drums:
"Buy a ticket you schmuck!".
