Title: Looking for new moderator
Post by: Steve on August 22, 2014, 01:00:36 AM
I'm looking for 2 more moderators. Any takers or nominations?

You will need to be reasonably active on the forum (at least reading it), and be fair. The rules of the forum are very simple.

I vote for Nathan Detroit (Nate). He is VERY fair, not sure if he is interested?

It seems that BOMBUS has sadly "thrown in the towel" ? He's now NOT listed as a MOD in the Members list & the ITCHY BALLS thread has gone M I A (missing in action) ? So it seems that 1 of the positions, at least, is a replacement spot ?

As to me being a MOD ? I'll pass on that idea, I like my quiet low stress life as it is now. Thanks for the thumbs up guys.

I withdraw my offer. Good luck getting a mod.

I agree with your stand Turner.

Better read this quick before the Mod deletes it.

Should we be reading between the lines here?

At least no-one let you loose in the liquor cabinet, or did they?  :yahoo:

Seriously guys, do you really want to waste time arguing over crap? Whether or not someone has been wrong in some way, it is still relatively petty. I know better than anyone what its like to have "friends", but there are better things to use energy on.

I've been watching the thread although no need to respond until now.

Ken, it would be either one or both forums.

The moderator would need to be stable in the head. It is ok to get emotional once in a while, but moderators set an example for everyone's behaviour. In addition to enforcing and following basic rules, moderators need to:

* Not moderate other moderators (instead, contact me about issues with other moderators)
* Be mentally stable (the forums have a lot of volatile people)

So far it seems nobody wants to step up to the plate. Sure you will be the target of attacks, but thats all part of it. I'll keep the thread open and waiting.

ps you can nominate yourself of course

I did that, in the end you ignored me too.  :give_rose:

There is an army of Steve hater's out there, and over the years one of the 'special forces soldiers' of that army has always been Nathan Detroit... Now Ken nominates ND for the moderator position.

Life's a comedy.

I dont hate Steve. Years ago at GG I slammed him quite a bit over his product I knew nothing about, just to "fit in" with the rest of the fellas. I have apologized multiple times. It does not mean I endorse anything, I know very little regarding his products for sale.

Yes, the special forces soldiers in the Steve hater army hate Steve.

In years gone by, and over a lengthy period, ND was one of the more vocal and slanderous individuals when Steve was being attacked about his alleged past criminal activity, and his forum running alterior motives, ie, internet traffic to bolster sales of his "cheating" devices.

You were in there throwing punches too, I might add.

At the time I spent many precious hours coming to Steve's defence when you guys were gun blazing all over the place. When he took over the forum there was a mad exodus and most all the admin & many members deserted Steve's forum a very large part due to all the mud that was thrown. I thought that was wrong and unfair of people to judge Steve at that level so I stuck by him and continued to offer my loyalty and services out of principal.

Yep, that's gratitude for ya.

Ken

So for ages, you gave Steve and all his admin a really hard time just to "fit in" with your mates?

That says a lot about the kind of person you are Ken.

Guess what, one of your mates was Nathan Detroit.

In fact, now that you admit it, I strongly suspect Steve only ever made you a mod to shut you up!...kind of worked I guess. In fact, I nominate Nathan Detroit for the moderator position. Might shut him up too.

Bombus:

1. Not responding to Turner asap does not mean I ignored him. But his change of mind because I didnt respond in his timeframe is not a promising sign.

2. Yes I have a few "steve haters", for childish and unjustified reasons. Keep in mind Ken and I didnt get along either once. I accepted him as a moderator because regardless of how he felt about me, I believed he would at least try to do the right thing by the forum. It makes no difference that we dont see eye to eye on particular topics. ND is no different. Whether or not I'd want him as a moderator depends on whether or not he could keep his problem with me separate from being a good moderator, and whether or not he would be a good mod without his issue with me running what's so obviously a scam. Yes lots of people who know nothing claim to know.

3. Yes you did notify me of ken's unjustified deletion of your posts. After checking logs, what I found was some he deleted were justified IF you were a typical member. And some he deleted were not justified whether or not you were a normal member. So I asked him to "behave" and he agreed. But you weren't happy with that and banned his account and did all kinds of things that you know were wrong. You didn't just inconvenience ken, you inconvenienced me.

As far as I'm concerned, both you and ken have been at each other's throats for some time and you have both done at least something wrong at some stage. But what you did was inexcusable. Explaining this is a waste of time. I dont have any grudges. I just want to get on with things.

Bombus, dont get me wrong. I like you and find you funny, at times. But you did cross the line. I know you have a point, but you cant criticize ken when what you did was far worse.

Post by: bombus on September 01, 2014, 10:16:51 PM
Hey I was gonna ban myself too but you took my mod status away too quickly...bummer.

Now the only way I can get banned is to cause lot's of trouble.

I asked you to ban me but you won't because the bombus account brings internet traffic, or something.

You know you made Ken a mod to shut him up, you told me so yourself. Given the history, I always thought that action was a bit of a slap in the face for me.
Title: Re: Looking for new moderator
Post by: Steve on September 01, 2014, 10:26:54 PM
No I dont have a problem with banning you. It's deleting all your posts because then it leaves holes all over the forum.

QuoteYou know you made Ken a mod to shut him up, you told me so yourself

BULLSHIT. I never said any such thing. Bombus now you are deliberately causing trouble and I've had enough. You got your wish.

QuoteNow the only way I can get banned is to cause lot's of trouble

Good attitude. And I didnt refuse to ban you. I asked you what's the problem with you just deciding to not login anymore. You are a grown adult, and asking to ban you was like a child stomping feet making a statement.

Anyway you got your wish and we wont waste more time on kids games

On one hand...I need to remember that I have had free forum use for years....and like or hate...have to be grateful for the gratis entertainment and ...in my case...massive learning curve in gaming and maths. But...Steve..you still havnt responded to me..only refering to me in the third person at Skakus.
I made the correct choice both times...
I also...like you..dont think your comments about me..to skakus...look promising either.....for any mod.

Turner, as I recall, you reacted adversely when I made an accurate statement about the unfortunate inaccuracy of information published by others. You took this personally somehow. When I say people are incorrect, at least I explain why. And then they can decide for themselves what the facts are.

When I asked you whether or not I was actually wrong, you didnt respond. I also feel your reaction to me not responding within 4 days was also unjustified. Simply I'm busy and still followed the thread, but didnt have time to respond immediately. Anyway I personally consider both cases to be an over-reaction, a sign of volatility, and its not proper attitude of a moderator. I'm sorry if you find my opinion offensive. It is just my opinion and you can have yours too.

And I dont recall me not having responded to a question you had. Chances are I simply havent read it.

Sure we have our differences. But in this case all I care about is is you want the job, will you do it in a correct and unbiased way. The option is there is you want it.

Now I have two!  :clapping:

I'm relatively new here so my focus is on reading posts before I start making comments... Somehow I'm surprised a bit - there are no much new posts? Maybe I came to late?  :scratch_ones_head: Everything's been told? Nothing new to say?
