Title: Aussie Racing Tipping Thread
Post by: Lohnro on February 19, 2009, 11:30:24 PM
Hi All,

Ok, This will be the process.

Anybody who wishes to tip on Australian or NZ racing can do so. I will place $10 of my own money (which I have won from the TAB anyway) on each tip for the win. All winnings will go to a local Charity.

- Tip one horse per Sat**day. Your "BEST BET' for the day!

Place your tips here by 10.00am Sat**day morning. The more tipsters the merrier.

Hi Guys

This is probably the wrong thread but I wonder if someone might be able to help me with this one?

I've lost my copy of a system I found on the internet. It was a freebie written sometime ago by an Australian. The system was called early retirement or similar, it involved dividing the stakes by 6 and calculating the average odds of the horses you backed.

I believe it is quite a famous system and I'm hoping someone might be able to help me find it again on the internet.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Grinder.

I think what Your referring to is either the Retirement Plan.
or
The 6 point Divisor plan that I use....below is the link to the Divisor.

nolinks://vlsroulette.com/money-management/6-point-divisor-plan/ (nolinks://vlsroulette.com/money-management/6-point-divisor-plan/)

Lanky, thanks very much.

I think your 6 point divisor plan could be the one it's certainly very similar to the one I had in mind. However I'm sure it had retirement something or other in the title.

You mentioned another one, do you know where I might find that one?

Hi grinder,

Try this nolinks://nolinks.grandstand.com.au/master.htm?nolinks://nolinks.grandstand.com.au/retirement.html (nolinks://nolinks.grandstand.com.au/master.htm?nolinks://nolinks.grandstand.com.au/retirement.html)

Hey Lonhro,
Any selection this week?
I like a well bred two year old colt in race 4 at Randwick, No:4 The Mikado.
Not suited by the heavy track last time, and reportedly working extra good on the track.
There is also at least one son of your namesake in the same race.
Cheers,[smiley=beer.gif]

Yep bombus, I was just about to post!!

I actually like like Dr Doutes R 7 @ Flemington. It should be about $12-$14 @ jump.

Don't forget, this is for charity. Every tipster that posts, I will place $10 on the selection and any winnings go to a local charity!!

Thanks for posting your tip bombus. Any more tipsters?

Hi Guys.

Well its been a Long time since I was out of the Racing Game.
But I have recieved a Tip on  Hot Danish R9 @ Randwick.

Also Lonnie seeing this is for charity I will select the shortest priced Favouite that is in Either
Sydney,Melbourne & Bribane.
In the pre post Morning Market....You can select it from what-ever paper you get.
And I will Have the $10 on a place .....Lets see how long this wins for....You will be surprised I think.

Now that I have put the Mock on it...it will probably run over the Hot dog seller.........Lmao.

Your Mate.

It seems both Sunday Joy and Theseo were both the shortest pre-post favorite's in the Newcastle Herald @ $2.20, and both paid $1.40 best tote.

OK Mate so in That case We would have picked the first one to race.

So the result would have been $10 A Place for a Return of $14 and a {+$4} Profit.

So We would be 1 from 1 so far Cobber.

Good Onya Mate.

Thanks for having a go N9.

Since Bird Dancer was scratched, I like one at good odds in the last @ Newcastle, No 1 Senro Kisaki.

So today's bets are Caymans & Senro Kisaki $10 each.

one thing ill never learn in horse racing is why the jockey allows the horse to get so far back in the field if the horse  was more handy  might have figured in the placings or won even

Might stick with Caymans for the derby
Title: Re: Aussie Racing Tipping Thread
Post by: Lohnro on March 28, 2009, 03:54:39 AM
Well we couldn't manage a winner today, but we still have $18 profit.

Maybe next week with a few more tipsters, we might snare a winner or 2! The Slipper is next week, so if a few people tip, I might box em in a trifecta as well.

Lanky,

Your place bet won well and paid $1.50 for the place.......Well done Mate!

Hey mate,

I am well over worrying about what the Jockey does in a race! When you place enough bets, you see jockeys on the other horses who ride so bad, they actually help your horse! But it hurts more when your hard earned is on a horse and it is slaughtered!

You may now get some value with Caymans in the derby!  ;)

OK all you Aussie racing enthusiasts. There is a MASSIVE day's racing @ Rosehill tomorrow. How about you give your old mate Lonnie a tip so he can back a winner or 2. Just to re-cap one more time, let me know before 12.00 Sat**day morning, and I will put $10 on your tip to win. Any winnings we get will go to a charity, any losses, well, I will find where you live!! LOL........Only joking!!.........I have taken plenty from the TAB's over the last few years so I am not worried about a small loss. ;D Besides I am confident we will have a winning day, so join in!

My Best Bet for the day is in the BMW:

Roshill R5 - No. 1 Viewed

My best roughie in the race is Newport, so I will also put a $2 quinella on them as well.

Hi Mate.

Well seeing that this thing is now starting to gain momentum I will explain more about it.

What We will be doing in betting a D'lambert for the 1st 3 lost Bets.
EG
10
20
30

Then if that loses We will put the 60 into a 6 point Divisor with a Win target of 7.
So it would be like this going into our Bet after the 3 losses.
-60+70=130
6/130=30 Rounded Up.

Now what we are going to do this time is that when we get the Dollars up a bit more to to say $40 to $60.
We are going to Pay for an Old Ladies Grocery Bill for Her.

If She likes She can write thank You on it and I will have that scanned to My Computer and then put Here on the Forum so that Everyone can see that its going to a Good Cause and be proud that its on behalf of All the Members.

OK so Now so far its gone this way.

Bet 1=10 +4
Bet 2=10 +5+4={9} PP
Bet 3=10 lost=Minus 10
Bet 4=20 paid$1.80 so 36 back-30 outlay=+6+9={$15} Profit so far towards Paying a grocery Bill for someone.

So Tomorrows bet supplied by Lohnro is.(as all can see I can't Rig the Bets because there supplied by Lonnie)

Eagle Farm R8 No.1 Zero Rock.[/b] Pre Post $2.10.

Good On Ya Mate.

I have a phone number for a bloke that gives tips - usually picks well too. Problem is it means going to a payphone since my home phone and new mobile phone wont call 1900 numbers (costs about $4.00 on a payphone). I can PM it to Lohnro or Lanky if they want it - best not to make it public as I did pay $ for it a couple of years back.
I've been meaning to call it and put the tips here but Sat**day mornings are always so damn busy......

Well there were 3 bets today with 3 losers, so our running total is @ $-55.

roules - Thank for placing some tips mate  I would be happy placing some bets for you if you only place 1 or 2 bets. Are you backing them for the place or win? Randwick R1 No.3 Silently won and paid $8.60 win and $1.90 for the place so I am not sure where the $1.50 came from?

Lanky - Your bet Ortensia cam 2nd and paid $1.20 the place..........well done!

Post by: roules on April 25, 2009, 07:28:15 PM
Hi Lohnro,
If I back them it's usually for a win and a place. I'm not too keen on backing something under $2.00 though, obviously that's where most of the winners are. Kinda sucks losing $5 when trying to make $1.
I can post more next week, you can look at their odds and decide if you want to back anything. It's hard to single out just 1 or 2 sometimes they all have a good run.
Cheers
Roules

Ps - actually there's one bet I don't mind making that involves betting alot to make a little. I've only done it once and not had the confidence to do it again although I won the first time.
I think it was called a "boxed trifecta" - where you can pick more than just the first three horses. It's well suited to races where there are just 5 or 6 horses left after scratchings etc. The bet costs a bit more but is almost a guaranteed win as you've picked say 6 out of the 6 horses to come in in any order.

Hey Lanky,
Yeah my horse racing tips arent going too well at the moment, Rugby League teams seem to be doing better than the GGs. I was more posting the horsie tips for interest sake than advice. I didn't post them all, but what I did have went: 1 scratched, 3 losers, a second place and a fourth place (useless anyway but still close).

Rosehill R6 No.4 Prince Braeman.

Lanky & I had a chat on the phone tonight, and we will change his bet. He may also add a 2nd bet using a different Pre-Post market. From now on, I will post his selections using the following rules: The shortest price Pre-Post favorite that is also a Unitab 100 Rater. I have had some success using the Unitab ratings, which are freely available on their site. So this should give us a strong place betting opportunity!

Hey Lohnro,

I've noticed a few of our losing selections went on to win their next race start...

ie, O'Lohnro $2.10, Lilleelavee $14.40.

If I get the time over the coming weeks, I'll start keeping a book on all the tipped horses and follow them through 1 or 2 more race starts, and see where it leads.

I'll start from this week with, Onemorenomore, and Offhanded.

Cheers :drinks:

Mooney Valley Race 2.

5. Genuine Stunner (Place)

Don't actually put this bet down Lohnro, I don't want you to lose $10 on my behalf. I'd prefer to lose my own money thanks. :)
Title: Re: Aussie Racing Tipping Thread
Post by: Lohnro on September 11, 2009, 05:30:23 PM
Hey Shorty,

Don't worry about it mate. My normal betting unit is 5 times that, I have already written off 4 bets ($200), from my spreadsheet to do this. I have up to 80 bets a day on a Sat**day so if I win or lose this $200 it is of no consequence mate, it is already written off!!

So I have no problem betting your horse mate, the more tipsters the merrier. Who knows, we may get lucky. If we don't.....well, we had some fun.

Cheers,

You're a brave man Lohnro.

It looks like a very strong day for favourites at Randwick today with horses like Denman, Racing To Win, Voice Coach, and Madame Pedrille.

So I'm looking to the more open race 5 for my pick.

Randwick R5 No.5 McClintock.

I might even throw $5 on the quadrella adding your pick in the 6th, and the two last fav's.

Good luck today.

Hey all,

I really like one at BIG odds tomorrow:

Caufield R5 No.4 Douro Valley - won this race last year at big odds and the same type of suspects are running again. Whobe should be the main danger. Should be $30-$40!

Every bet so far has been for the win, and to try to get a return I will break my own rules tomorrow and I will back this one $5 EW.

Good Luck!

You're a brave man Lohnro... (deja vous), can't resist those odds, I'm on!

This tipping 1 horse business is really quite stressful, it's a whole lot harder than putting up half a dozen good chances.

The wet track is a worry, but I'll cut through my half a dozen and go with...

Rosehill R2 No.2 El Sonador

Well hello gemtleman.  its friday night and racing beckons.  thanks for the invite over.  Im a pretty avaerage judge so dont get to excited.  I get the odd tip though and follow a guy who is a real good judge.  His horses often go round at cricket score odds though so if he stabbs a few in a year, your laughing.  He tipped that thing in syd last week that paid 50 dollars.  the kiwi horse.  anyway  he says  sydney  race 7  innings  e/w    and  brisbane race 7  Citiwise e/w and include Eddie rapido in any exotics, which will be big odds but it hasnt run for a month.  Ok well good luck fellas, im of the the brisbane treasury casino.  :yahoo:

Rosehill R5 No.8 Encosta Tszyu

was gonna say melb race 2  hume  but track is dead and he needs good surface so ill swap to  mr 4   no 13 paprika. good first run in melbourne 4th to a apache cat and the like, and was of her food and water all week.  Horse is fine now so a great run wouldnt surprise.
