Just an update on my BUS STOP system.

I was reading Busman's post where he accused me of been a fool for thinking that any mechanical system could beat the time table and I should look at physical ways to beat the buses.
He was right and so I googled "bus advantage play" and came up with B.V.B. (short for "bus vehicle ballistics")
My starter kit with the d.v.d's arrived this morning. It included a stop watch, air pressure reader and a computer with invisible earpiece and a spirit level.
So I headed down to the bus stop this morning full of hope. The air pressure was fine and in my first clocking the buses came in a steady 30 minute cycle, so perfect conditions really. I got down on the ground with the spirit level and the pavement was slightly tilted. (the young lady standing next to me hit me with her umbrella and called me a pervert) So I switched on the computer and it called out "number 22" However three number 12's arrived quickly one after the other. (It did mention in the book that they may speed up the service as a countermeasure) So I tried again and the computer called out "number 22". Hooray, this time the 22 came right on time and I had cracked it  :dance1:

On the bus the inspector asked to see my pass, when I reached into my jacket to get it out, the computer fell on the floor. He picked it up and looked at it and laughed at me. He then said that under the bus corporation rules of 2007 it is illegal for any member of the public to use a device to predict the acuracy of the buses  :rtfm: Well I was caught red handed and the game was up. He tore up my bus pass and kicked me off.

So I had a long walk to work. Looking up at the stars gave me another idea
