G'day,

The guy 2nd from the right is how I looked 25 years ago,
then I became obese and bald and lost the rest of my good points!

Scooby, you criticize people for doing something,... then you do it yourself. If the forum is such a joke, click the little X at the top right. Why are you still here?

Thanks Ka2, but they are not exactly the same. They are the same in respect of both being a fairly unique 12 number sequence, but when you consider the physical properties of the roulette wheel, the second sequence is far more likely to repeat than the first... not the numbers, but the pattern.

You got to be kidding right? Who cares about patterns? Are you trying to draw a horoscope? (also based on nonsense) The odds are EXACTLY the same. Most people have a hard time understanding this because they give value to certain events, or in your case patterns. But the odds of that pattern you draw happening again is exactly the same as that pattern from the first sequence of numbers. it LOOKS more random, but its not. Come on bombus I thought you were better than that...

Ok,

Maybe pattern is the wrong word. How about scatter.

One is a random scatter the likes of which you will witness all day every day for the rest of roulette eternity, and the other is a very ordered scatter the likes of which you will be lucky to witness a very few times for the rest of roulette eternity.

Deny it if you wish, but it's true.

Noble Savage

I second what Bombus said (based on real experience).

So what are the odds that a pattern will continue? Add to that the situational coincidence that the pattern has been doing the same thing for a full hour. What are the odds that it will or won't continue doing what it has been doing for the next fifteen minuets? You say the odds are the same. I say the odds are irrelevant. At the same time you are calculating odds the odds that a meteorite might hit you falling from the sky are also being calculated. They are irrelevant odds. They neither predict what will happen nor due they prevent what will happen shortly in the next few spins. Anyone can risk a small amount if they are willing to lose a few spins. The trick is to get more spins right than getting spins wrong. Meteorites don't prevent good guesses from occurring.
