Is this fair?

Mr J

I know the casinos can do whatever they want, I got that. When I play during the day, there is a guy that comes in and plays big. He'll drop 10K like its nothing, probably 5 days a week. I'm not saying he loses 10K but he's willing to. Anyways, (the guy hates smoke) when he sits down, floor runs over and puts the sign down, non-smoking table. When he leaves, the sign comes off the table. What if a dollar chip player did not like smoke? Would that sign still come out? NOPE!  Ken

Well, I have seen people not needing to queue up to exchange chips for money, some are offered free alcohol and food all night in the best casinos in London (which don't oftenly offer much), free taxis... As when I play I use £5 chips, I'm offered NOTHING! lol
Unfair greedy casinos, they deserve more winners coming every day  ;)

Mr J

So, fair or unfair with my question?  Ken

Cash Growth

Fair.

Because:
- Smoking by the wheel is not a basic need and smokers can go puff somewhere else.
- Making an area non-smoking does not affect odds of winning/losing of other players.
- If the business does not make an effort to make certain big-buyer happy, he may want to choose another casino that provides him with more special treatment.
- If he turns up everyday to the casino and spends let's say, 4 hours on a table, regular dealers on the particular tables will breath 1460 hours less smoke than before, damacitally reducing the risk of lung cancer and premature ageing.  ;) ;D :pleasantry: :girl_wacko: :agree: :good:

Best wishes, CashGrowth.

Mr. J

Permit me  to refer to the movie  " CABARET " during one scene Joel  Grey sings " Money makes the world  go`round , Money, Money, Money." :ok:

It`s the bottom line  that counts..

Nuff said .

It's fair Ken  ;)

The casino is a business so who do you look after the most ?

the $1,0000 BR player OR the $10,000 BR player ?

Look @ it the other way IF you were the $10,000 BR player would YOU expect the $1,000 BR player to have the same "benefits" ??

I for one wouldn't..... :nono:

The casino should not be allowed to have smoking and non-smoking tables in the same room.

Here in the  USA the size  of the casinos can make it possible to have  a  smoking and nonsmoking table  next to each other as long as the entire casino is non smoking and smoking is  permitted only while  sitting at such  a designated  table.

This works fine  at my friendly neighborhood ( 97 miles  away) casino.

Number Six

I find it unusual you can still smoke in US casinos. Isn't there a public smoking ban or do casinos make up their own rules?

Nathan Detroit

Number 6,

Here in the USA we have  3  different types of casinos.  The regular ones as we know it, the native American casinos, and a new breed the  Racinos  operated on  race track  facilities.

Depending upon the  State  some of them do not feature table  games  but  instead of slot or  video poker machines they offer " Video Lottery Terminals ( VLT) The latter are to be  ignored completely. :diablo:

Due to the  fact that  Native  American  Casinos  are on souvereign reservations  meaning that  Federal, State  , or  local laws  do not apply  to those  jurisdictions.

The 11  regular casinos in  Atlantic City do abide  by those rules mandated by the State of New Jersey. No US  Federal Law applies  to the non smoking rule.

I do not know  if  you have  any idea about the size of  the casinos here in the USA .  Gambling machines   can  range in the amount  from  2, 000 to 7, 000 machines ( e.g. Foxwoods Connecticut ).

From my own observation the  casino of the Oneidas  at " TurningStone "   N.Y has displayed " NO Smoking" upon entry  but then  has designated  smoking areas   within the  casino .

P.S. I would like to add that those casinos   do have  an excellent  ventilation system and the  temperature is maintained  at a constant   @ 68 F or 20 C.

Mr J

Here, not only can you smoke in the casino, they'll blow it in your face. lol  Ken

The casinos I've been to in EU are tiny in comparison. You could put all the casinos in France and Germany inside Foxwoods and have room left over. They're more like neighborhood pubs with a couple roulette wheels than casinos.

The casinos in the US are massive.

The two in Conn. are especially large.  The Mohegan Sun has over 34 roulette wheels between it's three divisions Earth, Wind and Sky.  Just walking from one side to the other is quite a long walk.
