Nearly hitting your target

What's the best way to play this?

You're playing a session, you're 5 units or so away from your target, then suddenly you hit a losing patch. Do you quit the session after say 3-6 losing bets, thereby walking away while you are still in profit? Or, do you just continuing playing in the hope that things improve?

My thoughts on this are either make 1 more bet and quit if it loses, or that you should keep playing just so long as you are still in profit. If your system is a strong one there's every chance you'll be hitting your target before going into a negative bankroll, and if not, well then you can still walk away happy with the knowledge that you have not lost a single buck, you can make profits on another casino visit, and that you did not risk entering into what could have turned into the session from hell - spending the next 5 hours trying to recoup losses and break even, and at best make a profit that barely justifies the amount of time it took.

From what I understand of Manrique's teachings, he would probably say keep playing to within your stop loss, but reduce your stop loss to account for your previous winnings. But is this the best way? I'm not sure...maybe it is...[smiley=undecided.gif]


Basically, I've never really known what's the best thing to do in this scenario, so I'd be grateful for some advice.

I just finished a run of 160 numbers on the Selecta4 System.  Where to quit??  Funny, I've just spent a few minutes at the kitchen table asking myself where I would have quit.

Here's the flow:24, -14, 13, 25

I honestly think i would have quit on one of those.  I think the 25 as it was spin 160.  Oh, my target was +200 and no less than -50.

I would like to hear more on this, too!

At roulette if your plan is starting to yo-yo and doesn't seem to be letting up then quit. 

Move to another table, another casino or wait for dealer change if you are kind of stuck where you are.

It is nice to have win goals.  I have them. But when that last $25-$50 is a total grind then why stay?  There is always someplace else or another session or another day if need be.

I know what is going to happen when you do quit.  You'll color out, go to the casino cage and change your chips for cash, hit the rest room to wash the chip filth from your hands and you will return to take one last look at the marquee before you go.  What will you see?  I am betting that you probably will see that if you stayed you would have 4-5 consecutive winners.   That's the way it usually is.  Just do not have any regrets.  Never, ever second-guess yourself.  If you do, it will be to your peril in the end.
