im just going to say where i stand on the situation because the topic is locked,

some of those comments from lanky were aimed at me i know, some i agree with and some i disagree with, first of all i havent shown any member disrespect who hasnt shown me any but i do get defensive when i get called things im not, such as branding people liars, now all i did to spark these comments was to show mr chips the maths proof of why systems will lose to the house edge on their own over time, simply showing the facts because he asked for 'proof'. all of a sudden someone said i was effectively calling everyone a liar with that post even though i had replied to victor earlier that people can win with systems but it is the player that wins not the system, i still believe that to be true, i am not speaking from inexperience either, jerek especially knows how many hours ive put into testing and creating systems, alot more than i would like to think about so its not as if i dont have a clue about systems.

from what i have gathered from victor the darkside section is purely to explain the maths of the game, and is not supposed to be used to discuss VB etc because as lanky says there are other sections for that. no-one so far who has posted in their has been negative, preachy or disrespectful, just giving people thier point of view on the game. all the argueing was sparked by certain members who did not agree with the section which still now i do not understand why they disagree, there is no reason to.

as ive said before if i had the information i do now when i started then i wouldve saved ALOT of money and hours testing, i believe it is wrong to keep the facts from new members so taking the information down cannot really be justified,

lastly im not preachy to anyone even though i may appear so im just trying to help people out but because people seem to think i am and i often get misquoted i think i shall stop posting now, but hopefully what i have written above will clear up any misconceptions about me

If I am the one you're speaking of, then let's discuss it.  When I speak of playing a system, I am including the human in the equation. 

I will tell you, I was never speaking of you; I was speaking of Herb.  He has insinuated Mr Chips has really not done what he says he has done--more than once.  He has sent me e-mails trying to get me to quit testing the G.U.T.  In my opinion when a person says they have tested something over 10,000 spins and it held up and another fellow comes along and says that it can't be because it violates the math--then the math person is calling the tester a liar.  It may be done by insinuation or innuendo, but the intent is there.  Herb has told me that no matter how much money the G.U.T. puts in the bank, it's the number of spins that really count--not the dollar figure.  Oh?  Well that surprises me!  I thought the idea was to create spendable money.  Now Herb may be a great guy if you're doing things his way, but if you're trying anything else, he is right there to put you down.

What good intent could a person have when he puts in his avatar "Moderator of Mr Chips"?  Since when did Chips need any moderation?  This was an incredible insult to this man and it was intended just like when bjb007 called winkel "Chippy".  What good intent could a person have when they say, "Better watch your blood pressure!  hahahah"?  Do not speak to me of this man's "good intentions".

I took Herbs oblique insults to me and answered him civilly on several occasions.  I knew he was poking fun at me; I am not totally ignorant.  "What a colossal waste of time.", he said of KFS program GUTCBA.  You see no negativity there?

So I was not speaking of you; had no intention to take down your posts.  I was speaking of Herb and I'll come right out and say it:  If Herb is gone--good riddance!

this is obviously the first problem then, when i say system i mean the actual rules without human input, when a human has input in the system i would call it strategical play, as you use enter exit strategies etc. and my point of view is a system doesnt hold up but a strategy can, im yet to see a system work.

my opinion of this is: lets take winkels GUT, now winkel says he wins long term with this, BUT kung fu sed has run a few tests to show it fails to the house edge, so in effect both parties would be right and neither can call the other a liar.

but obviously when expressing opinions like this words have to be chosen very carefully and also read and understood very carefully because it seems all to easy to create a false understanding of whats been said,

if thats the case then fair enough but from what i read that is the assumption i got, it leads me back to the choosing and reading carefully point.

I am well aware you can bet huge on number 35 and have it win.  Pure luck!  I have no issue with this.

But when you double a bankroll using bets that are 1/400th of that bankroll, you are not winning big on luck.  That was my bet.  Fifty-cents on a $200 bankroll.  It is now at $977.  It's gone up and it's gone down.  I may loose the whole shooting match next week.

Herb knew I was betting small bets.  Anyone who's read my posts know it.  If he hadn't read the posts, he wouldn't even know I was playing/testing the G.U.T.  If Herb helped you or anyone else, that's good. 

Well, Mr Chips is gone--for now.  He may return; he may not.  Were I him, I wouldn't.  Herb has at last succeed in his goal--to reduce this forum to nothing but arguments and to cause good people to throw up their hands and quit.  I am sure he is reading every word and loving every minute of it. 

ryan, you might not believe how much better a player I am not than I was two years ago.  I owe this to the people who have taught me.
