You should never take online casino bonuses.

When you sign-up to an online casino, the very next thing you must do is to contact support and tell them to disable your bonuses.

Then proceed to deposit.

Imagine this scenario:

You enter through the door of your local town's land-based casino.

You buy $100 as a bankroll and they give you $150. You are happy, now you can play with $150.

So you win $40 and want to leave with your whole enchilada. Then they stop you from doing so and require that you wager $1500 before you can cash-in. You ask why? Then they tell you the extra $50 are not free, they are there to lock your profits until you wager that amount. They need a wager requirement fulfill x10, and $150 x 10 = $1500.

With this face: [smiley=shocked.gif], you tell them you are in a hurry and need to leave home. So you tell them to just give back your initial buy-in since you didn't lose. They get a big gorilla-like security person to explain you have your money locked and won't get a cent of your own money until you wager $1500 to fulfill their requirement.

This is the mechanism of bonus.

Only instead of security, online casinos put a nice sales representative to tell you how lucky you are of having more money to play with with their amazing bonus and tell you nicely that you must only wager x10, x20 or another number for withdrawal and since they are nice you shove it.

Bonuses sucks, they are not there in good faith. Casinos do not give-out money, they are automatically attached to your deposits to lock your original buy-in + any profits you may have. Plain and simple. Yet another trick from the casinos.

Good thing is you can opt-out of them, contact the casino support staff and tell loud and clear you don't want any type of bonus. Sign-up bonus, match deposit, special bonus, NOTHING.

Never accept bonuses and be a clean player who has access to your bankroll as you would in any other casino, where you just leave the table and get your money with you.

This thread is for the discussion on why NOT accepting online casino bonuses ever. Your real stories welcome.

Quotewhere you just leave your table and get your money with you.

By the way, this is another "practice": to NOT PROCESS your withdraws for days in order to give you the "opportunity" to reintegrate them in risk as bankroll, easily: with a click....

Yeah right: One click to deposit, and then delays to withdraw.

Along with this NO BONUS thread, there must be a "Never roll back withdraws" thread too. Their sales representative are persistant to make you roll back wins into the casino. This needs to be talked out for the fellows to be aware of this practice... but that for another thread. Feel free to discuss bonuses here :)

Is it really fair that those casinos put such heavy demands on there bonuses. Shouldn't there be some regulations??

Does it works addiction in the hand?? I mean, if you have made substantial profits you want cash today
You dont want to be FORCED to play the bonus free, in wich we all now on the long term to make a profit is  almost impossible. No you keep playing until you can payout, but in the end you end up losing much more then that stupid bonus you were getting. And the casino's know that and thats why they give these bonuses away as if they were cookies.

This one was posted for my friend Lucky, but it must be posted here too:

Be certain of NOT BETTING A SPIN until your bonus is cancelled. Betting with bonus represents an acceptance of it and then your funds are locked. It has happened to people, they simply do not read the casino's bonus terms and then when they find out why the casino is accrediting them with more money than the actual buy-in ( for locking player's bankroll ) then they want to cancel it, but it is too late   :-/

Do not fall for that.

Some sample of bonus:
QuoteI got a $1000 bonus and to be able to withdraw I must wager this amount x 100, which means $100.000.

That's peanuts for us. Come on.  [smiley=lolk.gif]

Hey Gang,
While I agree completely with the NO BONUS' comments, I just wanted to say that last night I successfully "paid off" my bonus on DB and was still ahead!  Crazy!  I've been suckered into the bonuses more than once and have never survived to make it worth while, until yesterday.

Although I still agree that you shouldn't take bonuses, it sure is nice to take some of the casino's money for free!

Cheers,
Matt

Yes.  This is a lesson I've learned the hard way.  :(

I made this mistake when I first started playing, I deposited £100 with a 100% bonus at a certain casino (won't name names as I'm not sure if that's allowed).  By playing roulette after a couple of weeks I had my balance up to £1000.  I thought I would make a withdrawl, instead of doing what other casinos do though and having wagering requirements they just voided all of my winnings.  Needless to say I have never touched that particular online casino again, when I made enquiries as to their policies I never got a direct response to any of my questions, just a link to a web page with their terms and conditions, a link that didn't even work.  >:(

TwoCatSam

That is most unusual!

Perhaps you should consider naming this casino as to alert others.  Was it RNG you were playing or live wheel?

Did they accuse you of cheating?

This is most unusual; I've never heard of it before.

Anyone............

MattyMattz

Hey Sam (and others),

have heard of a similar story with Joyland back in the day... something messed up with their comp. points setup and it paid players too much, so apparently they removed all winnings&comp. points and just gave back the deposit.  It was in a link posted by Anand I believe (he was asking Victor about the worthyness of Joyland)... personally I have an account with Joyland and never had a problem and their CS has been very good so far.

Bobbi - did you get your deposit back?

Matt

Hi Sam and Matty

The casino was Casino Tropez.  It was just normal play, I assume RNG.  I'm so glad I've found this website, so much info.  I did get my deposit back, but I just withdrew it straight away and closed my account.  It happened at the beginning of this year.  There was no suggestion of cheating from them, I was just told in an e-mail that I had voided their terms and conditions of the bonus.

It was a sour experience as it was the first casino I had signed up to and I didn't expect something like that to happen.  I now play on Ladbrokes casino, where there is an option to play live, I've nothing but good things to say about them!  :)

Don't ever stop asking questions about peoples strategies Sam, you normally ask the questions that I'm sitting here thinking whilst trying to get my head around a new strategy! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Hi.

I never took bonuses until Dublinbet. Cause I hate when there's the rule of wagering on all other games, but roulette.

Dublin has the option of unconditional wagering on roulette AND other games, so my opinion is that it's worth of taking.

The new regulations say:

Deposit €1 to €300 get 10% Bonus instantly //// 10% bonus carries a Wagering Requirement of 6x (Bonus + Qualifying Deposit).

Deposit €301 or more get 15% Bonus instantly //// 15% bonus carries a Wagering Requirement of 9x (Bonus + Qualifying Deposit).

I never use the 2nd option, because it has a small reward for much bigger duration of money lock. I always deposit less than 300, and if I need more for the sistem or just wanna put more, I put less than 300 again and never have problems of wagering. For the deposit of around 300 €, you need to pay off 2000 € which is acceptable, and with lowest stakes, I need 3-4 hours max to unlock the money.

Very few people put money on casinos to play few spins. So, if you are a serious player, you will make the wagering anyway. So I vote for taking what's free on Dublinbet. I don't play other casinos, so I'm not cempetent for any other bonus issues. Last month I earned 150 € with low risk play, but earned 200 € with 9 bonuses, which makes the bigger part my profit. For me, playin the casino is:

Profit = low risk play + bonus wagering
